2011 Official Biosciences Interviews and Results

waiting for Wheres to reply is almost as tough as waiting for the schools to reply

lol

Pharmacology

Hey all,

I’m new the forum as well. So far, I’ve gotten interview invites from UPenn (ImmunoNIH), UCSF (BMS), and UWash (MCB), in that order. I scheduled the first two right away. I just missed the call from UWash today, and their interview weekends overlap. When I call them back, should I just tell them that I’ve already scheduled interviews for those dates and ask if there might be any alternative dates?

Thanks!

I got interviews from Yale (MCGD–BBS) and UPenn (CAMB) yesterday. Pretty excited. Although, I’ll have to get another interview weekend from Yale…I’m already scheduled to go to Duke.

This is so exciting!

congrats to all invitees.Guys, does Yale MCGD consider international apps the same time as domestic or do the former hear decisions later.Last year someone mentioned that international apps were considered separately around the first week of jan. anyone second that?I’m freaking out because I’m an international.

I am also interested in knowing if internationals are considered separately from other applicants (i.e. later as opposed to earlier).

yeah they are usually.

First Pile: Americans
Second Pile: Internationals who live in north America and who can be invited for interviews
Third and later Pile: Internationals abroad

This is what I have heard from admission offices in biosciences

To those who heard from Yale MCGD, did they only offer that first interview date listed on their website (the first weekend of Feb) or have they already offered both? Hoping I still have a shot, but thinking my chances lay on the negative side… By this forum, looks like all the interviews went out yesterday.

kurplunk18… are you in the domestic category

Congrats BMC! Which UPenn track did you apply for?

Also for the people who got interviews at GSK, what date is the interview?

fallbiomed2011, Yup I am…

@shidodesu January 18-20 are interview dates for GSK.

Best wishes for the holidays everyone

Just received my first interview invite from Columbia Integrated Program!!

Congrats jlin!

Another question:
After I got an invite from Duke, the lady said my interview weekend was from Feb 17th - 20th and told me some details of what goes on each day and asked me if I would like to attend (which of course I was like woooo yes!!!). She then told me another lady would send an email to me with more info.

Afterward I sent a thank you email to the lady who called, just telling her that really appreciated the invite. Since then I haven’t received more information about travel or anything else. Do they usually start arranging this stuff later? I hope they didn’t forget about me.

am an international but studying at american school. got washu dbbs interview today, missed phone call and received email

@bomdardior
Which program within DBBS at WashU did you apply to? tks!

@SuperPiePie: A similar thing happened to me with Michigan’s. Just wait, they surely haven’t forgotten about you.

Thanks for the response Immuno, I feel a lot better now haha, I’ll just wait then!

First interview invite this morning via email (Vanderbilt IGP).

Anybody know whether UPenn CAMB sends out interviews in batches? Looking at gradcafe data from last year, it looks like groups of invites went out a few weeks before each of the three interview weekends, but that may also just be when people added them.
