Has anyone heard from UCSD biological sciences yet? Stanford started sending out interview packets this week. UC Davis Biochemistry, Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Bio has started calling. Like someone said before, UC Berkeley MCB has already sent out all of its invites so I wouldn’t wait on them anymore.

I heard from UCSD Biological Science a few days ago via email.

I was emailed an invite from UC-Davis (microbiology) on Monday as well. Does anyone know if they have alternative dates? Their weekend conflicts with UCSF…

@Flutopian

I received an interview invite to Davis’ microbiology program as well and was only offered one interview date.

I heard from UCSD Biological Sciences at the beginning of the week.

quote and also how many true(no US degree) internationals are accepted.
[/quote]
In my cohort and the three following (entering classes of 2006-2009; I don’t think I have last year’s data), an average of 10 BBS students per year are international and were educated outside of the US. I don’t know how many more than that were accepted and chose not to come.

Anybody hear from UCLA neuroscience today? Gradcafe has a few people saying they got emails w/ interview invites.

fyi neuro people:

e-mail invite from UCLA neuroscience and e-mail+phone call from Stanford neuroscience today

@turkeylurkey: I don’t have Davis’ alternate dates yet but when I get the email I’ll be sure to post

@bio300: tufts ISP has sent out invites, and I know they started rolling out invites in December. I got mine just a few days ago and I feel like they’re still going.

@microkel: which weekend did usc invite for? I was still hoping for an invite but I know their dates are fast approaching

@stemcellz: see you at Baylor TBMM! I think it’s going to be pretty small because the email said only 10-15 other people would be attending each weekend

@sdlifesci: NSF actually posts who got the awards (see link below). I applied for the fellowship two years ago as an exercise (didn’t apply to grad school) and I got a response, i.e. rejection, on April 10th. The nice thing is they give you rating sheets back though about a month later. You can take the feedback and apply again as a 1st year grad student (one reason to apply a cycle ahead of time to get feedback).
