also for the few people who posted here & on grad cafe that got invites to Vandy neuroscience (via the department or through IGP), do you mind sharing the interview days? and has anyone else heard back from Vandy? I communicated with a faculty member who expressed interest in working with me, however, I have heard zilch from the adcom themselves. I emailed the Neuro dept chair, twice, and no response. and it was a simple question regarding my transcript (if they received it or not).

update:
Official rejections: UCSF neuro (e-mail)

There are no unofficial invites. You either get an interview, or you do not. Do not make anything of this e-mail other than that the professor would love to meet with you if you are forwarded an actual invitation.

Biochemistry with a focus in RNA Molecular Biology.

I’ve heard back with interviews from Northwestern University, University of Chicago, University of Wisconsin at Madison, and University of Texas at Austin.

But, the one I’m really hoping for is University of Washington in Seattle. Have they sent out any responses yet?

For all those who are still waiting to hear back from MIT Biology, I was just in touch with the program coordinator and was told it’s safe to assume that no more invites are going out.

I have seen some people post that they have gotten invites to some of the Emory GDBBS programs. Does anyone know if they have started inviting for the Genetics and Molecular Biology program?

@ compubio, I got an invite for GMB at Emory last Sunday. Not to worry though, they’ve been closed all week due to snow/ice so they probably have taken a hiatus from sending out invites.

@ CATions – I was invited to interview at Vandy via the Neuro dept. Got an email invitation in mid-December and a follow-up email the first week of Jan. Recruitment weekend is Feb 3-6.

Don’t think USC Neuro has sent out invites though! Definitely hoping for that.

@CATions: I got an interview at Vandy IGP (although not neuroscience). Don’t know if this helps, but when I called after the email to schedule an interview they said they had weekends from late January-around March. There wasn’t one ‘set’ weekend, and there are a fair amount of choices to choose from.

hello everyone, new to this forum. I have only heard back from 1 school and am therefore obviously extremely nervous/anxious. ive been checking this site regularly but instead of just hoping someone will have some info on my schools of interest ill just go ahead and ask if these schools are still sending out interview invites?
