Haha, yea, I’m refreshing this thread every few minutes and there’s usually no new posts. There needs to be more activity! :P

@ CATions - not to pour salt in the wound, but what’s an “unofficial rejection”?

Glad to hear that no one has heard from Stanford Cancer Bio… That means I can keep hope for a few more days! I applied to Cancer Bio, Developmental & Genetics… I know people have heard from Developmental already; have people heard from Genetics too?

Also, just to vent: I am going nuts waiting on UCSF Tetrad!!!
(@ turkeylurkey - me too. sigh.)

@turkeylurkey, yeah, I’m refreshing, too, partially out of boredom. I’ve been using the results page at GradCafe to see which programs are contacting people, so I’m less anxious about people updating in this thread.

But I am definitely feeling a bit panicked, not because I’m afraid I won’t get more interviews, but because I always feel somewhat panicky while playing the waiting game! Also, it’s amazing to see the variety of programs people have applied to. There are just so many programs for so many different subsets of biology and biomedical sciences. Haven’t really seen a lot of people talk about the programs I’ve applied to.

And to add to my list from 4 posts ago…

UNC-Chapel Hill (BBSP)

yes, talked to columbia admissions (gsas, cell bio) today and was told that they have their list of names for the first round of interviews (there are 2 rounds), and that if we don’t hear back in the next few days then its safe to assume…we didn’t get in. :-/

Hm, so how would laundry be handled? I have a consecutive span of 4 interviews, but only have like 3 sweaters and maybe 3 pairs of nice pants. I guess you look for laundromats?

@waitingame,

I think Sloan Kettering sent out all the invitations. Interview dates are 18-20 January.

@waitingame, @sherman174

just talked to gerstner. applications are still being reviewed, once they review your application they WILL send you an interview/rejection email. the guy said that there will probably be more interview dates.

@turkeylurkey,

Whatever you do, don’t go for hotel dry cleaning or anything related to that. It’s way too expensive. A laundromat should be fine. Do you have an iron for your pants?

@ turkeylurkey - most hotel rooms have irons and ironing boards in the closet

someone on gradcafe got an interview via phone call from UCSF TETRAD just now. commence freakout

Anyone know whether MIT BCS or Columbia Neurobiology&Behavior are done sending out invites?

Penn CAMB invite today! They’re still going! I know I posted the adcom said they’re 90% done, but there’s still hope people! even for programs that seem to be done already.

I was a bit upset to find out that some invites have been sent for UVM’s CMB program, since the deadline isn’t until Saturday (and because it’s always a bummer when you haven’t gotten an invite!). And then it occurred to me that my boss still hasn’t uploaded her letter of recommendation, so my application isn’t even complete at this point.

Whoooooopsssss.

And no one’s heard from Harvard Public Health BPH?

@bashibazouk: Operation freaking out has commenced!

And cool, thanks for the tip about hotel rooms having an iron. That’ll help, although the previous advice in this thread regarding garment bags should probably be heeded as well.

Just got a call from TETRAD!!!

Just got an interview for Tufts Genetics! I have beena bit (ok very) worried about not hearing from schools, but it seems the invites are still going out.

Good luck everyone.

I got a call (message) from TETRAD. I was in class, so I couldn’t pick it up, but UCSF TETRAD is indeed calling people!

Yar, just got a call from Tetard as well, gotta call them back though as I was in the middle of doing something.
