2011 Parents

Hey,

Just thought we might have a place to hang out just to share experiences with our mids. Anyone else interested?

Nurseypoo

I am with you NP! And I want to hear all about the latest letter from Killer.

Ahhh! There you are! I will most definitely give you details. Well, in a condensed version. Although his handwriting is atrocious!!

All is well on the Severn
Defined diff. uniforms for me
*Boots comfortable
*Uniforms are pimp
*Plebe hack going away
*Rash remains
*Being a plebe is pretty fun (?)
*Send food
*For PPW, get me the he
off the yard after I show you around
*Send food

NP-sounds like the typical PPW routine! Most of the pictures of our boy showed him various stages of sleep!

OHH that was a good letter NP!!

I can't wait to watch Lola sleep! Just to see that sweet face. :)

NURSEY.. Where are our girls SPIDERMOM and JAMZMOM When we need them? and WHAT DID THEY NAME THAT DOG?

Count us in! Do you have some place in mind? We would love meet y'all.

I don't know. PM them, see where they are!

No idea about the dog name.

NP: I'm off to safer waters .. the nasties are at it again.

Why all the bother on a 2011 thread?

Don't leave me here all by myself!!

I'm here too. My girl is looking forward to straight hair and contact lenses. Requests alot of food because they said she needs to gain weight (under 100 lbs now)...ahhhh to be 17 again! She said it was someone's birthday the other day and reminded me to make plans now for her 18th because it's during Herndon. I didn't even think about that.
She got new roommates. I don't know why though. Did anyone else get new roommates? She writes in the dark in half sentences that are strewn all over the page. She never really explains anything just gives me little blurbs. She has never complained about anything except being sore in places she never thought possible. I never realized how funny she is.

She liked the old cadre and hasn't said anything about the new ones. Two weeks now and I guess we'll hear all about it.

New roomies are normal in the middle of plebe summer. She probably had to change rooms too and probably had all of 10 minutes to do so! In many companies they will get to choose roommates for the academic year during the next two weeks and right after PPW they will move rooms again to their regular room for the year (or at least 1st semester - my sons company was for the entire year but some companies do change again at semester)

Sounds like all of the 2011's are hanging in and doing well. Lots of fun things to happen in the next two weeks - Meet Sponsors, DC, Baltimore, Boxing Smoker, Wrestling Smoker, All Comers Track Meet ...

ashlisparents-

I can't wait to see them to get all of the answers to all of my questions.

Your daughter is a petite girl! The boy stated that they had to switch rooms, but before they could, they had to be in "bravo" condition. Hmmm. Wish his room at home was when he was here!

My son, too, liked his old cadre, but really likes his new. He says there isn't so much yelling, more teaching and learning.

Thank you, ashlisparents, for coming on board this thread as parents of a 2011 and not leaving me here by myself!!

My son wrote in one of his first letters that "Mom would be proud of me...my bed is made, my room is clean, my desk is spotless and my closet organized"... my wife didn't know whether to laugh or cry, this coming from a son with a room at home that looked like the aftermath of a tornado on most occasions

we've been making lot's of trips to the mail box and post office, haven't heard much from him in a while in terms of letters, maybe today? His last call was very positive though he's looking forward to PPW, as are all the Plebes I'm sure

Must be these super high achievers that don't like to clean their rooms. Her room was always a "pit hole". Then again, it's probably just a teenage thing!

We haven't heard much from the girl either...4 letters to date. She told me on Sunday that she doesn't have much time to write and she is finally sleeping. I'd rather her sleep and I'll just search the web to find the rare photo of her.

She did say they only had 30 minutes to move and have everything squared away. WOW! She must have been stressed as she likes to lolly-gag!

NP-Glad to be here!

ok guys returning to the familiar. Hey M2L and NP. Glad to hear your plebes are doing so well. Son is doing great now. Was very glad to see the 2nd set Cadre show up. Unfortunately he hit the radar of 1st set commander and stayed there most of the time. He turned 18 on the 21st-sent him homemade cookies w/ a happy b-day plate hidden underneath. They knew anyway and had him lead blue & gold that night. He said he truly respects the new commander and that he is a great leader.
Counting down to PPW. 13 days YEAH!

Nurseypoo.. you are never alone

Thanks M2L!

Kirbster- your son's b'day is the same as my nephew's! Yep, the boy's birthday will be this coming Wednesday and I sent cookies in an unmarked box, with packages wrapped in plain brown wrapping paper. I hope they leave him alone. What is "blue & gold?" You mean the song?

Blue and Gold is a time right before lights out when the plebes come together and (supposedly) discuss what was good and what needed work over the course of the day.

NURSEYPOO! Whats shakin in CALI? AC Year starts tomorrow! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!
