kha1ed, please let us know if you hear anything from UT!
BTW I turned in my resume yesterday and it’s still considered on time. My status says “complete” Although i couldn’t upload my permanent resident card copy because the uploader wasn’t working. Does anybody know if this affect on admission decision?

nv0y135,

I would call admissions and ask them to get the best answer. If they acknowledge that the uploader was down and they share fault, I imagine that you will be able to fax them a copy. If UT doesn’t feel they are at fault, they will probably allow you to fax them a copy with a letter of lateness requesting that they accept it.

Propayne7,

I would have called if i could but it was not office hour at the time i was trying to upload the copy. Anyway my status now says “complete/on time” i’m guessing this is one of the documents they don’t need at this time. But i will definitely call them tomorrow! Thanks! :)

nv0y, you may be right. I remember when my application was complete, they didn’t want any other specific information until I was accepted (vaccination sheet, etc.)

App status changed to “in review.” Anyone know from prior threads if this is indicative of anything? School choice? Strength or weakness of application? Thanks.

EDIT: I meant to say, because it seems early (6 days or fewer after deadline).

Last semester, a bunch of people that had 30+ credits had their application go “under review” mid March, but they didn’t find out until later in May. Those that had very good stats were accepted earlier and those on the edge they waited. Not sure if that’s how they actually do it or if it was a coincidence.

If you are currently still attending a school, your status will eventually change from “In review” to “Waiting on…” and then the process will start over again once you submit those hours. I know that once I had submitted all of my transcripts it was about a month wait before I got my decision.

propayne:

Did you already have 30 credits or were you talking classes to fulfill that requirement?

I didn’t have the thirty credits at that time.

I will be transferring to UT either CNS Biology or CLA undecided and I suspect my GPA will probably be around 3.7-3.8. Do you guys think I have a good shot?

Hey everyone,

Any idea on when decisions will be begin to roll out? I heard mid-November is the target date. I hope that is worst case scenario. The waiting is excruciating!

Current school: Austin Community College
GPA 3.89 with 60 credits
3 strong essays
2 letters of recommendation from ACC professors
EC activities: Phi Theta Kappa, a few one off community service activities through church groups

I applied as an Economics major to COLA. My intention is to prepare for the CPA exam through the McComb’s MPA program.

I’m also a non-traditional student, thus have plenty of work experience.

Best of luck to all of you guys. :)

course schedule for spring 2013 posted today on the registrar’s page. anybody get accepted yet?

I want to transfer to UTs school of Mechanical Engineering.

-I have my degree in Automotive service/technology (4.0) from Houston. (roughly 60 credits)

-Currently have a 3.9gpa with a large handful of general academics, including Calculus 1.
(As in every class except English, because my professor was irrational)
-Moved to Austin TX in hopes of getting into UT, currently taking classes at ACC.
-Deans list
-Phi Theta Kappa
-Have NOT yet taken physics, but will take this spring at the same time I file my application for next fall2013.

I have seriously healthy social skills, and I am much more competent than current UT students, but I am afraid admissions judges will discriminate against me having an associates degree in a vocational field. I do now, and have always wanted to study Mechanical Engineering.

What are my chances of transfer admission?

UT won’t care that you have a vocational degree. All UT will consider is 1. Transferable courses and 2. GPA. If you have 30 credit hours and a strong GPA, you should have no issue getting admitted.

@cooper: With a 3.9 I think you have a great shot! There’s always the option to do an internal transfer if need be.

I still haven’t received an update on a decision. My UT Direct page says “Your application is in review.” I’m going to assume that it may stay that way for a few more weeks.

If anyone receives a decision, please let us know. :)

thanks sista, hey by internal transfer are you talking about transferring as a general studies if i don’t get accepted into cockrel? Iv heard its a bad idea because I could be forced to take classes I wont need for the time being.

Do you know anything about this?

That is true, especially since you have 60 credits.

@cooper360

In regards to UT internal transfer rules, I probably know as much if not less than you do. Considering you have the Calculus 1 requirement, perhaps the CNS would be a better 2nd choice option.

I apologize if I’m pointing to the obvious, but your question would be best answered by a UT admissions counselor. I’ve had positive experiences with them as far as email communication goes. Phone contact would likely be tough during this period of time.

I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

Does anyone know anything about a pre-nursing major?

I have a 3.806 gpa from a local community college, do I have a shot at getting accepted?

i have 50 hours from UTSA with a 3.2 GPA and 29 hours from lonestar college with a 3.7 GPA.
-5 student organizations
-almost 200 hours of community service

trying to get into CNS
do you guys think i have a shot?
