Transfer chances for Fall 2012

Hi,
I'm transferring into CNS and will have 35 credit hours and a 4.0 GPA at the end of this semester. I have only spent a year at my CC and i'm part of Phi Theta Kappa. I sent in a great letter of recommendation from my calculus teacher from last semester and spent a lot of time on my essays.

What are my chances of getting into UT? (i'm also a Texas resident btw)

I worry because everyone i asked about this at my CC said it is very difficult to transfer into UT and have been discouraging towards me for the most part

With a 4.0 applying to CNS, you’re in. Rejection would be nothing short of an anomaly.

Start looking for places to live. You’re already in.

screw that
EVERYONE acts as though UT is hard to get into or something

it wasnt until i applied that i realized how easy it is to get in

a 3.5 gets you into COLA
a 3.6-ish gets you into CNS
3.75-ish gets you into Cockrell

People at my CC are the same way, they act as though UT is some holy grail that no one gets into. Those people are just jealous they didnt have the foresight to keep their grades up.

honestly…you should not have less than a 3.5 gpa at a community college to begin with. If you have a 3.5 it means you’re smart enough to do the work and understand it and you’re just lazy.

be happy that you kept your gpa so high so that you can get away from people like that.
I don’t think community college is an inferior education(as long as you pick the correct professors that is) its just the people you’re in class with arent…exactly the brightest bulbs(of course this is a generalization, not everyone at a cc is like that)

You’re accepted into College of Natural Science for sure. even with a 3.8 I could almost with 100% certainty tell you you’re accepted.
