Does anyone know when Christmas Break for the class of 2012 will be? Is it always the same? Thanks

Schedule wont be out until you begin BCT. but you should get a little over two weeks. The LMD may be different for each cadet. Some will have finals a day or so after others. Your class schedule will determine when you get to leave.

I just need to know when I would get back, my family is trying to plan a reunion in Hawaii, after Christmas

USAFA10s,

Would your family adopt me?

This past winter break, we had to be back by Jan 6. They may change that for next year though.

Probably, but then you would have to come with us to Alaska for our next reunion (not quite as warm)

alaska? insane...

i've gotta question. when do cadets normally buy their plane tickets to-from home? obviously earlier is better for cheaper prices.. and are there shuttles to-from Denver and C-Springs airports on days that cadets fly out-in?

My parents bought my Thanksgiving plane tickets during BCT, and I bought my tickets for Christmas break sometime in the early fall, probably September or early October. USAFA provides to both airports for a small fee.

You won't have any problem finding a ride to the C Springs airport or the Denver airport. I know there was a bus that left for Denver from the Academy when people were heading home for Christmas break, but it's just as easy (and cheaper) to find a ride with an upperclassman. Getting back is just as easy. All cadets have to be back at the hill at the samet time after a period of leave, so the airport is usually swarming with cadets who can take you back up to the hill. If all that doesn't work out, sponsor families are amazing. :)
