<p>Anyone know when the 2012 class will get time off for Thanksgiving and Christmas? I’m just looking to try and book flights way ahead.</p>

<p>There's no way to tell exactly when it will be until MUCH closer to then.</p>

<p>the reutrn times are hard set, but as Patriot said, the days you leave will vary. Thanksgiving depends on Comm's challenge, and winter depends on what final periods you have</p>
<p>Is there a shuttle which can take cadets from USAFA to either CoSpr airport or maybe to Denver? Do cadets generally try to bum a ride with someone with a car?</p>
<p>There is a shuttle leaving from the academy to both airports--there will be lots of information available during Parents Weekend. I would not make flight reservations until you get the official word from the academy regarding when cadets can leave.</p>
<p>The cadets can take either a shuttle to the airport or bum rides. I recall for Thanksgiving break last year we were advised not to book flights out of Colorado Springs before 6 PM, and Denver before 8 PM. It's difficult to get east leaving that late, ours flew from Denver to Las Vegas to pick-up a redeye to Philadelphia. You have to know their final exam schedule before booking their Christmas flight home.</p>
<p>for the cadets looking for the academic calendar, it can be found on the homepage under academics, office of the registrar, calendar. Eagle's dates are correct. 2012 will not likely be taking more than 6 finals and would most likely be able to leave on a red eye the 16th of December or the 17th if they have a late final. There will be plenty of time to worry about flights home, although i understand the worry about cost. Eagle and My cadre always told us not to worry about that and that we can focus on it "if we made it through basic". BUt Finals start Saturday the 13th, and run through the 19th</p>
