** Fordham is ineligible for the Patriot League Championship, due to being a scholarship team. However, the Patriot League has voted to to join Fordham and go full scholarship in 2013. Fordham can make the Football Championship Series (the old 1AA) playoffs as an at large team.

Home games are played at Rose Hill's historic Jack Coffey Field on campus.

Only play 5 home games? That has to be part of the reason that there isnt alot of support. If they want the student body involved they should play more home games. The schedule is terrible. Play a home game before school starts on Aug 30 and then play 6 out of the next 8 on the road. Hope 2013 schedule is better.

Classes at Fordham often start the last week in August so maybe that is the case for Fall 2012. If so, it isn’t a bad idea to have a night game the first weekend people are on campus.

We are in the Patriot League, so our schedule is limited by those members: Lehigh, Lafayette, Colgate, Holy Cross, Georgetown, Bucknell. (not bad company, right?). And our out of conference games are limited by whether we play up the ladder (Cincinnati) or down the ladder/lateral games (Loch Haven, Columbia:which is the 9-11 Liberty Cup, btw).

We do fill Jack Coffey Field frequently. But Fordham is not the BigEast, ACC, SEC or Big 10. Nobody in the Patriot League is…they are all academic schools. The games are fun, parents weekend is a blast and its all good. Come and cheer on the Rams!

We have a new coach in Coach Moorehead, who comes from UConn -Offensive Coordinator (and is a Fordham alumnus and former Ram!)

Program is definetly heading in the right direction, but a better schedule would gain more support.

Soveign, do you know which weekend is homecoming?

Yes. September 15th vs. Cornell at Jack Coffey Field.

August 30th game, the season and home opener is a Thursday versus Loch Haven. Move in is Sept 1, 2. Not sure which game is the Parent’s weekend, however. Later in season.

ooh, bad for 9/15. Special stuff for seniors over 21. My Daughter wont make cutoff.

Looks like classes will start 8/29 so students should be on campus by the first game (which makes sense). Hope that is the case anyway.

^^^ thanks for that update. That is very early this year! I had seen a previous calendar which said it was going to be Sept 1, 2, which is what it was in 07 when we moved in!

I have followed Ram football since an undergrad in the 70’s and the last 2 years have been…shall I say…difficult. But that is behind us now. I think we have a new hope and cause for excitement as a new coach and scholarships in the Patriot League is going to lead to some exciting football. There is nothing like rooting for your rams on a beautiful fall day as the leaves are turning on Rose Hill. At the very least I like watching us beat our cross town rival Columbia and hope we have a lot more wins. I look forward to a new year!
