Anyone know the deal with UCSD and UCSF…? I think I saw one person from each Univ. say they got invites a day or so ago but no one else… Do they send waves of invites (i.e. I missed the boat) or is it a one-at-a-time system (keep holding on to false hope)??

Just want to know if I should move on and start accepting invites elsewhere

When I was scheduling my interview for a program, at the very end of the phone call the person made the comment of “we’ll wait til Jan 9 to book tickets and confirm with you that you’re actually attending” even though I had made no indication that I was waiting for other schools that were “higher on my list”.

I would definitely try to schedule based on dates listed online and then to go to everywhere you schedule with, but you can’t leave them hanging for weeks while you wait; I think they’re used to having people cancel. Some friends last year also cancelled all of their other interview weekends once they got invited officially to the school they wanted.

So, I applied to columbia P&S. Haven’t received any email besides a confirmation of application received. should i have received another email with a pin to check the status of my application? i think someone was talking about it earlier.

I haven’t gotten anything from Columbia, not even the application ID. I emailed them last week and didn’t get a reply. I applied to Pharmacology and Molecular Signaling… has anyone heard back from them or from any other program in Molecular Basis of Health and Disease? Any information at all about it? :/

Hey flutterfly, I got the interview invitation from Pathobiology and Molecular Medicine on Dec 14th. I think you should get an email with your application ID few days after you submitted your app. If they did not reply just call them. I sent several email to them regarding my app status, and they never replied. Even I got invitation, my status still shows nothing have been received yet except application fee.

Sorry, now it won’t let me edit or delete my post. Anyway, formatted stats for those who asked:

NYC is a great city, but things here are either you cannot afford or just ****ty. if you wanna enjoy your life, I dont think it is a good place unless you have a lot of money.

Just got an interview invite (via email) for U of chicago, Molecular Biosciences. I applied for the Cell and Molecular Biology program. The interview is Feb 16-18.

You know, in all the time I’ve spent researching grad schools online or talking with people in my lab about, Princeton never crossed my radar. USNews ranks it #7 overall for biosciences, but it doesn’t rank at all among biochem/cell bio/molecular bio programs. This leads me to believe it is not an elite program in those specializations of biology.
