2012 Official Biosciences Interviews and Results

thanks @ biochem2012

I am interested to know about any news from Princeton Molecular Biology

It is not a great program but I hope some people have applied to it

i don’t see why princeton would be anything but a great program for molecular biology…

Anyone here apply to michigan pibs but have yet to get an invite?

^My boyfriend got his invite to PIBS. He picked bioinformatics as his program. I’m waiting for my invite, now!

There is a post on gradcafe about UCSF BBS Interdepartmental Neuroscience, which I know is not the same as just UCSF Neuroscience, but I can’t find that program as an option in their graduate programs. Wanted to compare the deadline dates/interview dates…AHHHHHHHH

@NeuroTheory: I saw the post too. I don’t think it has sent out the invitation yet according to last year and the year before last year. I’m gonna call them tomorrow…

@bazinga123: I know UNC BBSP has requested some interviews. Good luck!

Anyone who heard from the UPenn neuroscience program- have they requested interviews for any other their other programs (I’m applying to CAMB)

@sheetz

I know UPenn immunology, pharmacology, neuroscience, and biochemistry & biophysics have all sent out some of their invites. No news on CAMB yet though.

@molbio

have you applied to Princeton Molbio ?

any body heard from Princeton Molbio

UNC BBSP ?

Princeton Molbio ?

any calls from above program ?

^^ chill out. look at thegradcafe – last years applicants heard back in january. just wait.

@rocafella

what programs have you applied to ?

I was just wondering if anybody can tell me how hard is Princeton MolBio ( statistically as well)

that’s on the first page of this thread. princeton has a good molecular biology program, so i assume it’s going to be tough to get in. that’s all i know since i didn’t apply there.

thanks rocafella

I was merely being curious about Princeton Molbio because I have rarely seen anyone post about it in this thread.

It was full of MIT,Stan and UCSF applicants so I assumed fewer people have applied to Princeton MolBio

well, if you’re the only applicant then i’m sure your chances are good!

Been reading long enough, time to perhaps post?

Received interview offers from Yale BBS and UCSF BMS

^^ which track of Yale BBS? have they sent out all invites already?

Yale BBS / Pharmacology, as I previously said. No idea if they sent out all invites.

anybody has idea on the number of applicants for Princeton Molecular Biology ?

how many do they accept ?

Please give me tips about interviews?

do they discuss only your research projects or they can ask random questions from your general knowledge of Chemistry biology etc. ?

Of people hearing back from Yale’s BBS, it seems they’re all going into Pharmacology. Perhaps yale splits applications into sub-departments and sends out invites separately.
