For the bit where we put all our coursework–do we fill in all of the classes we plan on taking through fall 11, winter 12, and spring 12?

TaLLLuDWiG718

are you from new york?

anyways. basically all that matters to you is this :

You’re TAG will be accepted.

Davis DOES NOT require IGETC, only UCSD.

TAG only accepts Assist Certified Courses. Depending on your major the requirement of a minor to major amount of pre-reqs may be needed, check assist for info on that.

TAG will only accept 80 Units Max from your transcript

newsoul,

courses taken in Fall 2011 should be listed as IP (in progress)

winter/spring 2012 should be listed as PL (planned), you may get too excited with your acceptance, then lazy and not want to take the classes you listed on your TAG app as IP, besides you don’t know 100% if you even get into the classes you wan’t, and UC TAG doesn’t care about your priority status at CC, so you don’t wanna mess yourself up there.

If they only accept 80 units, will they decline my TAG if I have more? On the UCD TAG it said you must not have completed more than 120 units. If they do accept it still, will they only take the units that matter for my major?

I am from California, Bay Area. Also, where I showed my GPA / Unit totals, what do the numbers mean exactly is it [TOTAL COMPLETE/TOTAL YOU’LL TAKE?]

Is it true that you can only TAG to one UC this year?

why yes, yes it is.

Anyone going part-time in the Spring? I only need one more class for IGETC which is 4 semester units. Other than that AA and Major prereqs are done.

TAG Matrix states
“must be enrolled full time fall 2011 – spring 2012, exceptions possible for part time”

^ davis right?

yep

Quick question. How do I indicate a course that I’ve received credit for through an AP exam when you’re listing down your coursework on the TAG application?

Is it the T from the drop down menu?

Or… do we not report it and just submit the information in the AP Exam section of the application?

Thanks for any input!

^ It’s in the exam section omg… just click next after the courses report and it will pop up right before your very eyes…

Hello!

So I am a prospective Fall 2012 transfer to the UC system. I am now filling out my TAG and have one question. I am now in my second year as a CC student, but as a senior in high school I took one online course with CSU Dominguez Hills’ “Young Scholars Program”. The class did count as undegrad credit. Do I have to report this online course or just put all my CC stuff on the TAG? Thank you!

List EVVVERRYTHING! It probably won’t have the classes listed so you will have to customly insert the class title and information.

UCKitty, can you answer my followup question? :)

You should ask a UC Admission Rep, visit your school transfer center to get their emails and/or phones so you can hijack them every night =)
Most CC counselors are utterly worthless. I advise you to stay away and ask on this board or find an Admission Rep/Specialist like Errki Corpus of UCLA. Hope I didn’t write his name wrong, he may rejects my app lol

Do we have to meet with the counselor by any chance in order to qualify for tag? I thought all we had to do was submit the online application… but i read somewhere saying submit it with your counselor? can someone clarify this? thanks a lot

Thank you! I’m at one of the community colleges that runs on a quarter system, though…so I haven’t actually started my fall quarter classes. Do I still put that they’re in progress?

@newsoul, yes. I’m taking an online course at foothill this fall and its quarter, i listed IP.

ha sparky, i see you holding things down.

@TaLLLuDWiG718, right i will, just give me like 15 minutes, I’m going to take a shower real fast. brb. a lot of questions to reply to today, ha.

TaLLLuDWiG718,

as long as you haven’t attended a CSU or UC, you can take as many CC units as you want, BUT, they will ONLY ACCEPT 80 units. I am not sure about this 120 thing. So therefore, **No, you’re TAG will not be rejected.

Of the 80 units, yes they will first take your MAJOR units, then your GE units after that, the GE doesn’t matter they all just about fall under the same category except those Arts, Science, etc categories.

Anyways, the numbers you posted 3.21 is your ASSIST certified GPA (the GPA that matters). The way you listed your units are confusing, can you give a screenshot or something instead?

No, do it yourself… please

De Anza/Foothill starts on 9/28 I believe, at that time it is still the TAG filling period, so you should put all your fall quarter classes in “IP”, even though at the time you submit, you may haven’t started yet. For Winter and Spring, list all as “Planned”. Hope that helps

Wattt?

^ha answering all the questions, keeping things cleaned up.
