Congrats–you’re good to go now.

@Pinkstuffz,

Complete!!! :D

Congrats to everyone with II’s!

Haven’t been here in a while, so quick update:

verified last week (took 5 weeks exactly :o )
LOR packet sent and received
complete at some schools
drowning in other’s secondaries

so much self reflection ahhhhhhh

congrats to everyone with IIs.
Those who completed - happy writing. It is a long process and may test your patience and sanity .

Wish me luck - I will start my interview cycle this week .
I will finish most of my in state interviews and one oos before school starts . The rest of oos IIs are scheduled back to back for September first two weeks.

Just wanted to say congrats on all of the good news so far this cycle!

What are II’s ?

Interviews Mammal.

Good luck Piggle. It sounds like you many interviews scheduled.

Congrats, piggle, and wish you a good luck in your next phase of med school application cycle.

Congrats Piggle and good luck in your interviews!

II =interview invitation

Good luck on your interviews Piggle!

The many perks of being a Texan and applying early and widely.
I am very grateful for the interviews I got- 5 instate and 4OOs, I hope to get an early match .

D had first interview yesterday. She’s uncertain how she did but is happy to have her first one done. She has a few more scheduled in the coming weeks and was recently verified so is completing her secondaries as quickly as possible. This is going to be a long year…:(

JC40 - Long good year with many interviews!

Piggle - you must have a good app to have 4 OOS IIs already.

I know IIs do not mean acceptance and all my OOs IIs are with top 26 schools. So I am keeping a realistic attitude.

Out of 8 Texas schools ( I have not heard from UTSW, Houston and San Antonio ) I will be attending 4 state and Baylor IIs this month.

JC 40- I hope she will have great IIs .I am still waiting for two of my secondaries.I am not sure whether I will be motivated enough to write when they come out .

I think it is a very good sign that you received an II from Baylor on such an early date. This is because Baylor selects the best applicants from the pool of applicants they have received every 2 (?) weeks for interview.

Baylor an UTSW are the top ones on my list . The in state tuition is also very tempting.

UTSW takes a little longer to call but I am sure you will hear within two to three weeks. Baylor is usually slower and as MCAT2 said, it is a good sign to be invited this early. UTH usually does it whenever but they don’t fill too many seats upfront. UTH also loves to diversify the school lists to cover nationwide and doing under grad OOS helps quite a bit there.

I’ve submitted secondaries to a few schools (NJMS, RWJ NJ, Jefferson, BU, GWU, Pitt, UVA, and Penn). Have to submit a few more within the next few days. I hope to hear about interviews soon…

My son is mostly done with his secondary apps. He is, however, not complete anywhere. The pre-health committee packet is the hold up. Amazingly, his entire committee is on a 2 week vacation and will resume processing on Aug 17. Meanwhile, all the kids (and some parents ;)) are on pins and needles. It is appearing as if his packet will go out late August early Sept. Here is hoping this delay won’t cause too much damage.

Do they consider work done over summer to issue this packet? If not, why do they wait this long?
