@fish It was BBS. :(

is anyone somewhat surprised people got interviews at Havard but not Berkeley?

I got an interview invite for CSHL! Excited, but it conflicts with another interview… Hopefully they’ll be able to do a different weekend.

@BioPhysANDchem: Berkeley is a top program and probably draws in a great number of applications (like Harvard). Another issue is that they are a state university, so they’re probably harsher for out-of-state applicants.

@bassish101
congrats! how and when did CSHL contact you?

they had close to 1400 applicants, and each class is somewhere around 80-90. Good luck!

Sorry, that last post was about unc bbsp

@princebear: thanks! an hour ago via e-mail. Good luck!

not hearing from any schools has me starting to regret all the nights i went out drinkings instead of studying in college. oops

There’s one post on Grad School Cafe for Stanford Biosciences M&I. I guess they’re starting to notify applicants?

For harvard bbs, how many students are usually interviewed? What about the international students? A little bit nervous about what it would like for the next week…

Just heard from UWash Pathobiology! I’m super-pumped, as this is (pre-interview) my #1 choice.

OH MAH GOD STANFORD GENETICS INTERVIEW (via email). This is hampering my productivity significantly.

Congratulations, trekker and slicingbike!!!

aw man I applied to Stanford genetics…guess that’s a rejection :(…and a rejection from UC Berkeley MCB too bummer!

@mathandbrains, do you know how many people are interviewing for unc bbsp?

rejected from Berkeley MCB as well, so many of us lol

is anyone applying to caltech? I’ve heard nothing about them on the boards…actually, I havnt heard of anyone else applying

@ mathandbrains I am interviewing at unc bbsp as well- do you happen to know the post interview acceptance rate?

-ucsf tetrad sent out rejections a few minutes ago…ugh 2 rejections in one day :(

For Harvard BBS, it absolutely doesn’t make a difference whether you come the first weekend or the second.

This is actually only the second year Harvard BBS is interviewing – previously students were accepted in January and came for a recruitment weekend. The intent is that the current system works very much like the previous one, and they are not looking to cut anyone post-interview, if possible.

sounds like they’re reserving the right to reject the crazy people :p
