2013 Bioscience Admission and Interviews

Is the integrated program at Columbia through the med school? Because I’m sure they only have two interview dates and they’ve already been filled… What did they say?

I applied to Biological Sciences at Columbia, I dont think that is the med school but I’m not sure. I called because when of my recommenders did not complete his forms and the website said my application is incomplete. Then they told me my application hadn’t been looked at and not to worry.

^ the deadline for the app was Jan 4th

Notre Dame interview! Feb 7-10! Excited!

Hey all! I know someone must have asked/answered this question before, but I’m just worried about it…

What’s the post-interview acceptance rate like for Harvard BBS? I got interview (and it’s my first interview) but I heard that they generally invite a lot of people?

Good luck to everyone!

@BioPhysANDchem

Yeah I applied to the same program and was about to call because they haven’t received my GRE score report…

Sitting at the airport! Excited and nervous! good luck to everyone with interviews this weekend!

Harvard BBS has a post interview accept rate around 90%.
Of that, the matriculation rate is around 50%
So, a lot of people are invited, but a lot of people are accepted. BBS is one of the biggest programs in that regard.

Rejection at Iowa Microbiology today.

Update from BU PiBS:

“I want to take this opportunity to update you on the status of your application to Boston University’s Program in Biomedical Sciences (PiBS). We have received a record number of exceptional applications and as of now we are not able to offer you an interview slot. However, your application is still under consideration and I should be able to give you another update sometime in mid-March. I wish we had the resources to invite more people to campus. In the meantime, I wish you well in the process.”

Wait list or rejection? Hard to say.

Quickly followed by a University of Washington rejection. Not my day!

ss2player: Holy…I didn’t even get that e-mail from them. What does it all mean?! Haha!

@ss2player
It seems that BU PiBS has put you on the wait list! good luck!!

Did anyone get updates from Harvard BBS, Princeton Biology, or Stanford Biosciences? I haven’t heard anything, not even a rejection. Does this absence of any sort of update mean rejection?

Isn’t all this eerily similar to that “Why-isn’t-he-returning-my-texts?” feeling, you guys?

hahahahahahahhaahh @Th2Cell
it’s wayyyy worse.

TheSuspense: Exactly, since: PhD >>Cute boys.

Hi, sorry for essentially asking the same question - but does anyone know if columbia send rejections? I feel like by now I would have heard if I was going to be asked for an interview I know they met to discuss candidates on Dec 21st. I’m from the UK and here everywhere sends notification of rejection. This not knowing feeling is worse than a rejection I am sure!

@luckysambuca

I havent heard from them yet either so im guessing they have not!

luckysambuca:

I also applied to Columbia GSAS. I thought the deadline was December 3rd, but last time I checked it seems to have been extended to January 3rd… I haven’t received any news from them yet, and my GRE scores haven’t even been matched to my application. So I guess they are still evaluating their applicants.

Weill Cornell allied program invite!

im actually on my way to an interview for Columbia’s integrated program, is that the one you guys are wondering about?
