BeakerBreaker: No man, I am still waiting. I saw one person got interview offer from UPenn CAMB program too. Im so stressed out now.

If you’re looking at gradcafe, it’s someone with identical stats, so I’m assuming it’s one person that got two interview offers.

This one might be of interest to people who are self-conscious about their stats.

Lets both just get in to UCLA and stop stressing out. deal?

That sounds good. The wait is a lot worse than I thought it’d be, and it only just started. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to see how it goes.

@Cassandra

Looks like we have UW-Milwaukee and Northwestern in common. Are you looking at IBiS or DGP? I think we’re all stressing at this point. :|

We apply directly to NUIN for neuro.

Oh, that’s right! I completely forgot a lot of places have separate neuroscience programs!

Just submitted two apps. It’s starting to get real haha.

Hey guys, was planning to apply to both IBGP and PIMB at Pitt-I like the larger IBGP, but the four year ave to a PhD at PIMB is enticing. There’s some overlap between programs-did anyone else apply to both? It isn’t forbidden in any of the rules, but do you think they’ll frown upon two applications? I get the feeling PIMB is probably more selective, but dunno that for certain.

I’m joining a little late, but I figured what better place to spend my sudden increase in free time (now that applications are in) than here.

When I applied last year I heard from most programs between now and dec 21st, with 1 large exception, harvard. They don’t meet until after jan 1 to decide on who to interview. Good luck all! (neuroscience or MCB programs)

What programs did you apply to last year?

I’m applying to the PIMB and IBGP programs. I know profs in both programs (personally and academically), and none have indicated that applying to both was inappropriate.

Am I the only person whose applications are even due/getting reviewed until Jan 1st?

@pghbioteacher

Hey thanks for that. I’ve submitted my app to IBGP and am finished w/ PIMB, but was having second thoughts about submitting it.

I wonder how they handle interviews. Seems a great deal of expense on their part to fly us out to Pittsburgh twice. Though granted that would be getting well ahead of myself.

@trickster31, yes you are the only one. Hehe, I have two that are due Jan 1 and three on Dec 15, but most were on the Dec 1 and of course everybody says earlier the better. Best of luck!

@erbbie3: congrats!! When did you submit?

@bassish101: Thanks a lot! Submitted in mid-November.

I also got an interview invite to UChicago Molecular Biosciences! First invite! So excited!
