2013 OCT SAT1 Discussion (Reading)

@BestOfTheBest Ok, so can you give an example of the answer that majority thought it was right, but which turned up to be wrong :T

And I don’t think Harvarddreams wrote that originally…and I also don’t really see people who got shocked by their results in every March result threads

Looking through your response to Harvarddreams, I see your answers were NOT melancholy and delusive grandeur

Delusive grandeur is actually sense of entitlement
and melancholy is correct

Not sure if march people got shocked from this…I dunno (=ㅂ= ; )

your test was the same as the March US one… just find the threads for that one and you can get all the answers…

many??how?

@BestofTheBest Are you sure that your answers are CONFIRMED? Are these answers are from people who took the March test or is it from your speculation?

Sanguine…resilience does make sense
because 19th century people were optimistic about the durability of the ecosystem
(optimistic=sanguine, durability=resilience)
hence, sanguine…resilience is correct

crater upon crater was the different answer
It generalizes…author’s opinion since the author thought the repeating landscape was boring…he substantiates by referring to craters and landscapes
So your answer is probably wrong

unconverted I’m not sure, but I chose author of passage 1…guessed it :P

Finally Sense of entitlement instead of delusive grandeur is correct

Are you sure these are the REAL answers?
or is it from your friends or from your speculation?

I don’t see people refuting my SC answers here at all

@BestofTheBest
Wikipedia:
The term variability, “the state or characteristic of being variable”, describes how spread out or closely clustered a set of data is.
[Variability - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Variability - Wikipedia)

Variability and diversity is different

This SC question is patently what everyone agreed on!

Crater upon Crater…Hill upon Hill…this sentence to me seems very boring even though the reader did not read the passage. Before this sentence the author was already disillusioned by the moon’s landscape! He does not refer to the movies anymore! Crater upon crater…hill upon hill IS the real moon’s landscape the author says

Can someone help?

WHO WANTS TO KNOW THE REAL ANSWERS/EXPLANATIONS NOT JUST VAGUE ASSUMPTIONS OR INFERENCES…HOLLA AT YO BOY DONNY THROUGH A PM

I think I got a 800 -1, -2…on CR
800 Writing -1…on this test

@kaz

what the hell does that mean .what u said in korean? im korean but u speaking that fob jive i dunno …but anyway

ILL GIVE U ANSWER TO ONE CONTROVERSIAL

I do know that the one between SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT VS DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR (NOT DELUSIVE GRANDEUR) WAS

A SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT…why?

A sense of entitlement simply means that one basically feels that one has the basic right to something …in other words, it implies that you are an arrogant prick who feels entitled or privileged to receive what you want…WHICH CAN EASILY BE CONFUSED WITH DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR BUT

in the context of the question, based on the lines referenced,it said something about how did the narrator (The arrogant prick) feel ?

the referenced parts said something along the lines that he felt that fate or chance (i forget the exact words) had put people along his path for whom he had no thankfulness at all because he felt as if he were “entitled” to having them help him…as if it were some type of duty they were doing for him…

delusions of grandeur…a oft-used psychological expression to describe narcissists implied that u have this inflated perception of yourself as someone who is greater than u r…so understandably it might seem like he had delusions of grandeur…but did he really? where is the delusion? even though expecting others to to be servile to him mgiht seem like it implies that he feels greater or grander than he really is, does that thereby shows “delusions of grandeur”…no, that dictates more of a sense of entitlement that he felt in his life in the way he expected others to treat him, namely as a god
