Did anyone else have trouble with the “identifying sentence errors” questions (somewhere around questions 21-34) in the writing section? I skipped a lot of them because I didn’t want to have too many no errors.

ax^2+bx+c=50
x^2+bx +c=0
Answer was 3

Triangle split question was 9
By area it was (129)/(43) three to remain similar.

The square pyramid answer was 100+50sqrt3 other choices were 200, 100+25sqrt3, and two others that used 150 rather than 100 (you would get that if you counted the square sides as though it was a cube)

Simile is correct…sorry.

anyone remember the other 5 sentence completions/ i assume they were really easy since I can’t remember them!

@jjatty

I can vaguely recall that one of the SC answers was voluntary.

sorry but why is it simile?

because a simile is a comparison using “like” or “as” and the line you quoted specifically say the math functions AS… Therefore it is a simile…

an analogy can use like or as, too. and that was a choice.

also, it wasn’t directly comparing math to those things, it said math could function as those things.

I went with simile, but I think the question was just confusing in general. This sat better have a good curve!

i agree! this was my first one so i dont know how difficult it was relative to others, though.

Also, to illustrate my point a little more:

Example: A spoon functions as a tool for eating.

“as” can also show purpose, not just comparison.

To me, the confusing part is that “as” shows purpose, yet it seems like an analogy almost because it says it functions “as” a telescope or a sieve.

Is it actually possible there could be a -4 curve

i think that the curve will definitely be generous after seeing what people have said here about the difficulty

Maybe it’s just us worrying…
How low can the curve be though

Reading was not that hard… There’s no way it’s -4 80. no way. it could possibly be -2 80, but it’s more likely that it’s -2 78 and -3 (after the .75 deduction) 75 or 74.

Writing curve will probably be average

Math curve will be harsh.

hum, i guess i dont remember analogy being an answer choice

anyone remember any others?GRID IN’s:

1) 6
2) 875
3) 7 (Perimeter triangle 24,sides 10, x, x. x = 7)(
4) 1/9
5) 3/8 (about books)
6) 36 (3 + 1/x = 9.Therefore, x = 1/6.x^-2, which would be 36).
7) 25- (Fan angle degrees)
8) 1999 (x+y/x-y) greatest value
9) 4
10) ax^2+bx+c=50
x^2+bx +c=0
Answer was 3

Multiple Choice:

1) Triangle split question answer was 9
By area it was (129)/(43) three to remain similar.

2) The square pyramid answer was 100+50root3

3) 44%

5) .67 the one between like 5/8 and 11/16?

7) k=anything between 3 and 5

8) 7 people both newspapers and candy

9) 124 different people

10) 180 different four-digit numbers

11) x=180-y-z

What was 1/9 again? Which question

9,3,1 find the fith number. Each term after the first term is equal to its previous term divide by 3

what was the question for answer 6.cant remember it and something like I II III one HOPE THAT I CAN GET QUESTIONS

Oh ya. thanks I got 1/9

@jasoncaa1 It was 2 more than 4 times a number is 26. x=6.
