2013 - UCLA - Checking Status w/ URSA

Hello everyone, I’m a new member. I have been looking through “uc transfer” topic for months and it helps me to answer my questions.
Anyway, I’m able to see the summary.

Major: Computer Science and Engineering
GPA: ~ 3.97 - 4.0 (overall and major)
Pre-reqs and major: 2 major courses, and 1 recommend course will be completed in the spring.

By the way. Is it a good sign to see the summary?

@CSfuture Based on past decisions, seeing your financial aid summary is a good sign; with that in mind, there were a few outliers who were able to see indicators of admission and got rejected, and vice versa.

Yes it is a good sign. But, to be 100% sure that it means your in, there should be at least 1 engineering major saying they cannot view the summary. So far 4/4 engineering majors can view the summary. Even though all 4 of you can view the summaries, you all have very high stats so I still think it is a good sign.

@Citiz3nerased: yea, I still remembered all those craziness we had last year. Some of us even stayed up till 3am to wait for the myUCLA maintenance.

And for LS applicants, do not worry if you do not see the financial aid summary yet. Last year, Engineering and Art majors were able to see their financial aid summary ahead of others. We (L&S) were not able to see the summary till just few days before the acceptance day, which was either 17th or 18th of last year.

I wonder when UCLA actually finishes going through all the applications

Someone mentioned that it may have to do with the fact that engineering is not part of Letters and Science (the app review is different depending on which school it is). Maybe their decisions are already made. Anyone else who’s not Letters and Science and who can see their summary?

@ Bsfswiher and HeatZz : Thank you. The only thing that I concern is my major is very impact , UCLA only accepted 34 of out 208 students. One more week and we will figure out.

@CFfuture what’s your major?

Never mind. I see your previous post. It may be two more weeks.

CSfuture , not CFfuture

“You do not have a Financial Aid Summary for this Award Period”

:/

@moon9kittie Thanks, that was helpful.

@PreMed ^^^ Don’t worry about it. If you are not engineering, it doesn’t matter (until the immediate days before the decision). No one from L&S can see it right now. If someone could edit this in the first post that would be cool.

I would be sad if every engineer can see this… Judging from the posts, all of these engineering applicants have strong academic GPAs.

I’m pretty sure decisions will be on April 19th according to MsSun. She’s pretty knowledgable.

Couldn’t see my financial aid summary.

Major: Chemical Engineering
GPA: 3.84 (maybe that wasn’t enough for this year)
All Pre-reqs finished by Spring.

Can’t see anything either. I’m L&S, though.

@Mikey750: Did you apply for financial aid , and add UCLA to fafsa ?

Indeed I did. Looks like this isn’t a good sign then, huh?

“You do not have a Financial Aid Summary for this Award Period.”

Nothing here. In L&S. Though I think my chances of acceptance are pretty low (missing lots of prereqs).
