2014 AP score RESULTS thread

World History: 3
I thought I would get at least a 4 maybe even a 5 but it wasn’t good enough. I emailed my teacher and she told me that since the exam was so easy, I probably did really well but other people did even better… :frowning: UT only accepts 4s but meh, I didn’t really need World History, maybe American History though.

5’s on Comp Sci and two actual AP’s(Bio and Euro) as a sophomore…suck it College Board

AP English Lang: 4
AP Physics B: 3
APUSH: 4

Really disappointed over the APUSH, but (strangely enough) ecstatic about the physics, because I was 90% sure I failed it. Never really cared for the English (and I supposed that showed).

Sorry if this is in wrong place but what’s the difference between AP Lit and Lan and which one is tougher? My school combines the two courses into one year long course and we take both exams in May.

I think most people believe lit to be the harder course but it depends on the person. I would say that lit focuses more on literary analysis while language focuses more on rhetorical devices and essays.

@marie122 yeah I agree the exam wasn’t too difficult but don’t feel bad. The score distributions for World History say that only about 6% of people got 5s. I had an excellent teacher and I owe my 5 to him.

@Martin18 I think that the AP Lit exam was harder than AP Lang exam (I took both this year). I felt the Lang essay prompts were easier than in Lit. AP Lit essays are more geared toward analysis while AP Lang essays are more about making your own argument (aside from the Q2 rhetorical analysis). MC is very similar for both Lit and Lang, though Lang passages are nonfiction while Lit passages/poems are fiction.

AP Chinese Language and Culture: 5
AP English Language: 5
AP Physics B: 4
AP Statistics: 5
AP U.S. History: 5

I was pretty surprised by my scores. I totally thought I was going to get a two in physics and maybe a three in english.

I can check for anyone!

AP Calculus AB/BC: 5/5 (expected)

APUSH: 5 (holy crap, I expected a 4!)

AP Spanish Language: 4 (given that I am terrible at speaking Spanish, this is a WIN; I am NOT Hispanic and am not nearly fluent in the language)

AP English Lang: 5 (wow, my essays must have saved me!)

Overall, I am overwhelmingly content with my scores and hope I can do this well next year: AP Macro/Microeconomics, AP Physcics C, AP Stat, AP LIT, and although it does not have an exam, Linear Algebra!

Comparative Government: 5
United States Government: 5
Chemistry: 5
BC Calculus/AB subscore: 5/5
English Lang: 4

Lang really surprised me…

History is definitely not my strong suit, so I am really happy with a 5 on my APUSH Exam. But honestly, I am just happy because my teacher puts all of the names of those who got 5s on her wall the following school year. Right when she told my class about this ritual of hers, my life’s goal was to get a 5 and rush to her room the first day of school to admire my name. I know, I know…modesty and all. But I can’t help it.

If you haven’t done so already, I have been asking everyone on CC for their scores and compiling a spreadsheet of AP scores. You can tell me your scores either by commenting on the link below if you have a CC account:
<a href=“AP Score Survey - AP Test Preparation - College Confidential Forums”>AP Score Survey - AP Test Preparation - College Confidential Forums;

or directly on the spreadsheet here if you don’t:

On the spreadsheet, you can compare yourself with others and see how you did. Comment only because of ■■■■■■ who keep deleting the document. You will not be counted if you comment on here. My goal is to get at least 1000 scores and at least 1 per subject by Wednesday. Thanks in advance!

@An1100345 I commented with my scores. I put in AP Macro, Japanese, Literature and Biology.

I’m just really disappointed in myself on apush…a 4 isn’t the end of the world but after getting 800 on sat 2 ush and sacrificing way too much study time for other ap tests towards this makes me mad. I really thought I’d get the 5 but just goes to show how variable these things are.

Chemistry: 5 pretty sure about it
Lang comp: 5. Nearly shocked. Awful grades all year, felt I flunked Q2, did no mc practice and like 1-2essays total, little
Sleep, was expecting a mid-4.
Statistics: 5 fairly sure
U.S history: 5 was absolutely certain on this.
Physics c mech: 5 pretty sure
Physics c E&M: 5. Wasn’t sure after test, saw score distribution of over 30% as 5, was fairly sure after that.

Bio: 4
English Lang: 5
Psych: 5 (self-studied, I literally just read the Princeton review the weekend before the test)
Spanish Lit: 5 (non-native speaker, took Lang sophomore year and Lit junior)
APUSH: 4

Slightly disappointed with APUSH as I love history and got a 5 on world, but I also had a not-so-great teacher and didn’t study as much as I could have. ECSTATIC with the Spanish score, I got a 4 on lang and last year my teacher didn’t have any 5s on lit so to get one as a non-native speaker is really exciting!
Now 6 APs next year!

Is there any difference between a 5 and a 4? I know some colleges only give credit for a 5, but other than that are there any major differences?

@Girofalcon‌
in terms of admissions, no. ofc, consistent 4s v consistent 5s may make a small difference, but a couple exams won’t.

Calc AB: 4
Bio: 4
English Lang: 5
