So, AP us history, or apush, exams are up in 10 days and I just wanted to know:

What do you all think the DBQ and essay topics r going to be about? Has ur teacher guessed anything about it?

So far I have heard potential feminism and religion topics for essays and independence from England for DBQ but this is from a friends teacher. So..any reasonable guessing would be appreciated nd thanx!

My teacher gave us a list of all possible DBQ topics for 2008 and beyond. I’m not sure if some of these have been covered but here they are:

The Collision of Worlds: Europeans, Indians, and Africans
The Constitution: Compromises, Ratification, Impact
Washington’s/Adam’s/Jefferson’s Political Legacies
Louisiana Purchase/Lewis and Clark
War of 1812: Causes, Impact, Significance
Re-emergence of the Two Party System
States Rights & Controversies in the Age of Jackson
The Market Revolution during the Antebellum Age
Mexican War and the Expansion of Slavery
The New South: Politics, the Economy, “Colonial Status”
Native Americans (some section of the Civil War-1970s)

Civil Liberties During Wartime (quasi-war, Civil War, WWI, WWII)
Reconstruction and the Civil Rights Movement
Change in the role and office of the Presidency or the federal government (post WWII)

Here are also some “juicy” topics never covered:
Japanese-American Internment
Vietnam War (probably still too controversial)
Analysis of effectiveness of Great Society/War on Poverty
Effectiveness of Reagan’s foreign policy (probably way too soon, though)
Native American issues, either during colonial period or during the settlement of the West
Effects of the Marshall Court
Manifest Destiny in the 1840s
Effects of Immigration, 1880-1920
The Labor Movement, 1877-1915
The Progressive Movement
Effects of the Warren Court
The Culture Wars of the 1960s and 1970s
Nixon’s Foreign Policy
Watergate
The Iranian Hostage Crisis and Carter’s Response (or Carter’s foreign policy in general)

I took the class two years ago, but for some reason guessing what the DBQ will be is fun still…even if I’ve forgotten most of AP USH lul.

I am putting my bets on French and Indian War and how it affected the colonies and Britians relationship.

Good luck everyone!

Lol ty to all of u I guess I need to study a lot more! :)

If you look up the writers of this years DBQ, most of their majors in history are in early American history (pre/revolution era). So there’s a good chance well have a question like that.
