2014 BS admission stats

Instead of arguing about percentages, I’m spending my lunch hour looking at swag on the bookstore website for DS’s upcoming bday. Seems a better use of my [wasted] time.

I bought my kid an Exeter t-shirt when he got in and he wore it non-stop the rest of his eighth grad year. Great way to generate good conversation with complete strangers.

@Jersey386 While it is difficult to pinpoint an exact reason as to why a school loses desirability among the applicant pool for any given year, several factors can include previous/recent scandals, worsening college matriculation as time goes and so forth. Considering my firms work in the prep school arena is just evolving, I do not yet have an exact answer as to why this phenomena has consumed Deerfield and a few other top-ranked schools. From the perspective of said schools, one can only hope that there is no particular reason besides the nature of the times; meaning there is no true reason and it will eventually correct itself by chance.

@stargirl3 I can assure you all of my numbers are based accurately in the context of their application. I have yet to reference a number concerning available spaces, so I am afraid you are incorrect. All of the research put forth from both my firm and myself is considered top-level and oftentimes coming from confidential (no pun intended) sources.

If anyone has any questions regarding the outcome of this year’s prep school or college level admissions thus far please feel free to ask!

@InsiderPrep I apologize. I didn’t read your post carefully enough.

InsidePrep, could you share Deerfield’s admission stats you got for this year?

I haven’t seen any numbers for Deerfield this year yet, but last year they told us at revisit day they 'd admitted 16% of their applicants, which was, indeed, up from 13%, but not some huge change as InsiderPrep seems to be saying (their website actually says they admitted 364 out of 2090 applications for this past year, which is actually just over 17%). Maybe InsiderPrep has numbers for this year??? If not, I don’t quite see this big change he’s talking about.
