Thank you sir! Just wanted to make sure. Congrats to everyone who got in! I did TAG but haven’t heard back from them ;/

@JN1994

I’m a comp sci major too and I tagged and still haven’t heard back. I wonder what the batches are based on!

Does anyone know when the next batch will be?

I’m a computer science major too who TAGGED (but my TAG is going to be rejected since my GPA was a 3.47 by the end of Fall, but I’ll still be considered for regular admission). I haven’t heard back from UCSD yet either.

@dontshweatit, what’s you GPA? hopefully we’ll receive out admission in the very next batch.

@bhav007, my GPA right now is a 3.68 but I’m a little worried now that everyone I have verbally spoken to has been accepted. I hope I didn’t so something wrong on my application!

What are the majors of the people you spoke with verbally and their GPA’s?

Also, efrumz said the following on page 31:

“I called admissions today and asked about the notification process. The lady told me that very few transfers have been notified so far. The bulk of transfer applicants are going to all be notified on a set day somewhere towards the second week of April. They’re going to still trickle out some admissions before that still.”

So that’s still good news.

@bhav007, I only know one of their GPAs:
Computer Science - 3.64 - TAG
The other two got in for Biology.

And phew, that is good news!
Thanks! :)

@kb242014 does that mean they are admitting everyone over a 3.3 again?!?!?!

@kb242014 I highly doubt they’re admitting everyone over a 3.3. “Transfer student applications also increased by 5.8 percent from 2013 with a total of 15,813 transfer students applying for admission. the average GPA among transfer applicants is 3.35.”

This releasing in waves thing is ridiculous.

@jytransfer did you figure how you ended up with the full ride? Are you local to the area of San Diego?

So I skimmed last year’s thread for transfer admission…it seems the batches were the following:

March 16
April 5
April 25
April 29 (Waitlists)

Hope this may help you, I know there are a lot of you who keep checking everyday. 3.5 Molecular and Cell Bio major here, TAG’ed as well. I’m missing a ton of pre-reqs so I am as anxious as ever to see if I got in or not.

I’m so annoyed that I didn’t get in the first batch! I know for a fact that they already processed my application too because they e-mailed me while they were reviewing it a week before the first batch came out. So they probably already have them all done and they’re just shaking the bag and rolling them out.

I hate that these forums are so biased and we don’t get to see people’s rejections. Who’s gonna come online to brag about a rejection, ya know? I’m sure there were more rejections released than we know of & a lot of people on these forums do have high GPAs… So I doubt there’s any pattern to how the batches are released. Ah well, the waiting game is what it is.

@taylorsams13 my daughter is a comm major also applying here and in same biat as you re UCSB - taking statistics this term. She TAG’d there too, so a total waste. If she gets in she’ll come onto this board but doesn’t want to beforehand. If you’re both in, you two should connect.

I JUST WANT TO KNOW. The anxiety is KILLiNG me lol. ■■■

I know this is the UCSD thread, but I’m more concerned about UCLA’s lack of info. One of the top education institutions in the world and all they can come up with is “late April”.

@kb242014

I hate to break it to you, but having a brother graduating from Berkeley and working there doesn’t improve your chances of getting admitted. UC Berkeley doesn’t engage in the practice of admitting students or giving preferential treatment to students who have connections to the school.

Still, best of luck to you.

@UCprincess - I feel your pain. We got a question on the app a couple weeks prior to the release as well. Answered. So assuming not an outright rejection (or why would they ask?) and had the same hopes as you. That it clearly meant someone was reviewing, so why not in the first batch? Still waiting for an answer here.

Someone said earlier that the “housing trick” can’t possibly work, as they would’ve needed to decide ahead of time who all they are admitting and rejecting. But they have to, right? I mean I know we are not the only TAG folks still waiting for an answer, and the G stands for guarantee, so wouldn’t they have to make sure they have enough spots for the TAG folks and all the local HS freshman who get in automatic etc (do they even do that anymore?) so I’m a bit frustrated at the space between batches, and why do transfers have to wait so long. Seems like if you are TAG you should know right away whether you met the conditions or not.

Could somebody PLEASE explain to me in detail about this housing situation thing? I don’t know what everyone is talking about! Please! Someone!

@JN1994 literally just ignore it. It’s just sensationalism.

@impatient2014 Ah! It’s so annoying. For some reason I was under the impression that TAG applicants would all be notified before anyone else. Mainly because they’re easier to process, right? Like it’s not like they’re gonna bother reading our PSs if they can just check our IGETC, credits, GPA and be good to go.

I didn’t pay $70 for this kind of anxiety!
