Has anybody that has been accepted by ucsd, recieved a regent scholarship with their notification of acceptance?

@socaltransfer14 lmao

Personally speaking, I TAG’ed for Bio and was initially accepted for TAG in November. Counselors at my school are all confused too and I even talked to a UCSD region representative in my area and she couldn’t even answer some basic TAG questions. On that note however, Last semester I did horrible which lowered my overall GPA to 3.509, I am taking 3 classes this semester. I am no where near done with my pre-reqs, and since I’m Bio, they don’t give partial credit for the Bio series. This is a problem because I will technically only have:
1 Sem of Chem
2 Sem of Calculus
1 Sem of Bio (Doesn’t count because no partial credit for sequence)

I still meet the minimum requirements for TAG, but this should be worrisome in terms of my major and what not. Anyone else with this dilemma?

@Marmaneous, I thought UCSD doesn’t tell you if your TAG is accepted until like now?

THE WAIT IS KILLING ME. WHY DOES THIS WAVE/BATCH SYSTEM EXIST?! WHY.

I’m so bummed that I haven’t heard from UCSD yet and I used TAG with them.

Doesn’t seem like there are many accepted engineering majors yet from what I skimmed through… here’s to a month of stress! lol.

I did TAG as a history major, but will be changing it to Computer Science…IF I GET IN!! D:

@JN1994 i would call them and check to see if its possible… after you transfer, its considered as impacted now, so im not sure if your considered as a “continuing student”

@dontshweatit they notify you if you qualify for TAG and it has gone through. Whether they choose to accept you for your major or reject you because of other reasons like failure to meet TAG requirements is up to them. If you violate the TAG contract they still evaluate you as a regular applicant.

@marmaneous are you sure? I think when you send in your TAG app they send you a confirmation. I took that mean confirmation that you had applied to TAG. Not any sort of terms of acceptance.

My spouse was rejected at SDSU although he met all the TAG/IGETC/golden 4/GPA requirements. Apparently because his major is impacted (and he did not have all the pre-reqs for the major). I don’t think UCSD does the same thing (others have stated they will accept you to the college but not that major) but I wanted to point out that those who look like they qualify on paper for TAG may still not get accepted.

@Impatient2014 I looked back at an old email and I suppose I misunderstood what they said. verbatim:

“Thank you for choosing UC San Diego when you submitted the UC Online TAG form in September. We encourage you to take the next step and apply to UC San Diego as a TAG applicant…The UC Online TAG form was a way of self-reporting your classes in a preliminary look at eligibility for the program. Some UC campuses pre-qualify TAG applicants by way of this form. Please note that as an applicant to UC San Diego, your TAG status will be reviewed at the time the application for admission is read, and not in advance.”

I guess I read it wrong.

@ajama9 I haven’t received anything yet and I was accepted this Monday

TAG does not mean you will be notified before others. I didn’t tag UCSD, yet I was notified early. I tagged Davis and I’m still waiting on their response…and UCSB…and UCI.

Stop trying to predict when they’ll release batches guys! I also see many of you bummed out because you tagged and haven’t been notified! Stay positive! A lot of information here isn’t credible and simply misguides us. After all, only they know what they’re doing or how their system works.

Pretty sure Davis sent out their TAG decision months ago.

Source: I got an approved decision for TAG from UC Davis months ago.
