@bolandgoo @bhav007 my friend who’s a cs major last year was accepted at the beginning of april, had a 3.59, non tag and was finishing his last prereq in spring.

Yeah having the basic prereqs not done like physics and calc is a big disadvantage, did you at least finish the first semester of calc and phys?

@Charger, I finished all the prereqs (except taking my last one this sem) according to their official CS transfer website: <a href=“Home | Computer Science”>Home | Computer Science;

I chose to do the chem series instead of physics (it says you can do chem OR physics). ^
I also have all the other prereqs done according to that side (well, finishing my last chem this semester).

Yes, one of their admin officers said starting 2015 they will start reviewing holistically since its starting to be a more of a selective school

San Diego - all decisions will become available at MyApplication on April 18, 2014 (confirmed via UC Counselors and Advisers Bulletin: March 2014 received on March 11, 2014).

Yay, we have a confirmed date! Kind of scares me how it says ALL decisions will be released that day. Last year they came out in batches. Anyway, exciting and a relief that we finally have a finalized date.

@transfer14ptl
I dont think they’re gonna just open the floodgates and release all decisions on the 18th of april? it seems more likely that april 18th is the last day of batches, no? I’d still expect batches in march, early april, etc.

Decisions for transfer applicants will be posted beginning in mid-March and continuing through the end of April. Please check back later in the spring for updates and the status of your application.

That’s what it says for all of us on UCSD’s My application page. I’ll go off of that. I would hope that Ms. Sun offered more clarity on her post, but that is besides the point. I suggest we all take a deep breath and try to relax haha, it’s causing a lot of unnecessary stress.

@bhav007 she’s a reliable source and admissions counselor
It says all decisions will be made BY april 18. So thats sooner than april 30th. There will be different waves of acceptances starting mid-march through april 18 probably

I was given same date today by the main transfer counselor at my ccc. However the date that that blog and counselor at my school for UCI is wrong, since we know they have already accepted people. So idk if we should believe there sources.

@Mik194 - Where are you reading on Ms. Sun’s blog the by April 18th part??

Here’s from her blog 60 seconds ago,

“San Diego - all decisions will become available at MyApplication on April 18, 2014 (confirmed via UC Counselors and Advisers Bulletin: March 2014 received on March 11, 2014)”

It clearly says on April 18th and not “by” April 18th.

Sorry dude she’s not trustworthy she messed up and lied about UCI too.

Admissions decisions for UCSD, according to UCSD will be released Mid-March, and according to last year’s threads it was on the 16th so I would expect them on or around that date.

Trust me she knows that people already got acceptances. I asked her about it and she said this is what she was told by the UC admissions officers that they will make decisions by april 18th. It’s hard to predict EXACT waves, so no ones at fault here @matt4200

She’s not trustworthy because she’s wrong about one thing? Don’t be so brash, this lady has probably been dealing with UC admissions process for years and probably knows it like the back of her hand.

@Mik194 - Why would she tell everyone who reads her blog, potentially tens of thousands of people that they will all be released on April 18th instead of simply saying they’re sending batches out starting mid march and continuing through April 18th is that so hard??

And she stated that UCR started March 1st which is correct but UCI started last week and she claims they won’t start until April 1st which is providing an inaccurate statement to her readers.

@smltk1505h - Multiple Multiple things, if it was just one id be like ehh she was wrong people make mistakes, but if it’s more and people continuously quote her claiming she’s the best source then I feel like I need to step up and say something you know? (3 or more)

Um we all thought it would release April 1st. UC’s can make their own decisions whenever they want
This is her job, she knows this stuff in and out. Otherwise people wouldn’t be coming to her for advice and paying for her services. So what she got one or two dates wrong.

Maybe you’re just crazy impatient… take a deep breath lol. @matt4200

@Mik194 - It’s updated daily by her so considering it was about a week ago people got UCI decisions she had what about at least 5 updates and she didn’t change it to say that? Just saying

Also it’s not too hard to just say decisions start mid March and continue in batches through April 18th is it?

It actually makes no difference to me whatsoever for UCI or UCSD I won’t be going to either of them. Lol

I just like people to get their facts straight and I don’t like it when people quote false information and present it as fact.

If the only things she’s wrong about are admission release dates then no harm is done. The admissions office aren’t binded to follow the dates that they said they would start releasing decisions on and it’s not like she is throwing a dice and making random predictions on this stuff. All of her dates, from what I know, are from the school’s site themselves, or in this case, some newsletter sent out to counselors.

I don’t think you’ll find another source that has as much information as Ms. Sun’s site for the UC admission process. It’s a silly thing to get so worked up about her being wrong about something as harmless as the decision dates. It would be a different story if her site had blatantly wrong information that would affect your admission chances though.

UCI got their decisions already? Are we talking Regent Scholars or regular transfers? Either way, I don’t see the point of getting upset over this. If she’s wrong, then great! We get our responses earlier. If not, we know when we should really start complaining.
