I haven’t heard back yet and I still agree with anavera that this obsession over the housing message is pretty stupid. I get that everyone is anxious but this thread is up to nearly 100 pages and it seems like half of them are people speculating about this housing trick. Future transfer applicants are going to have to dig through each page of crap to find the information they want and it isn’t fair to them.

Awww, @anavera I see. Thx for your response. This whole process is a nightmare.

@anavera, I posted my stats and housing message info because it will make the housing trick either stronger or weaker.

EDIT: I understand we can all hold back till we actually get accepted, and then say whether the trick worked or didn’t work for us, but I think people are having so much fun with the hype.

Poor 2015 UCSD transfer applicants

They’ll not only lose TAG but will have to dig through this thread.

See this is how I do it @dopecheez, I let someone else spend hours going through the threads from years’ past and let them post the results. That’s the civilized way. Right, @jihwang?

61 new posts and nothing new…

To add another post (YAY!!!), I saw over on the UCB thread that they were commenting on the UCSD thread with a million posts and said it was started earlier than most of the others, and the big thing is that when a school decides to roll out the acceptances, it creates a lot of stress, tension and second-guessing. The UCB thread has very little activity because the release date is cut and dried. So blame it on UCSD. ;)

All these posts about the housing trick are just trying to gauge it’s validity. If it works it works if it doesn’t it doesn’t, but I’d like to think coming to a consensus on the issue, one way or another, will HELP future applicants if they care to speculate. People complaining about how cluttered the thread is getting are not helping anyone and really only making the clutter worse.

The housing message means nothing. It just so happens that people who are obsessed with their application and who post on CC are motivated to begin with.

I’m sure we’ll all be happy and give each other hugs when decisions are all over and done with.

I applied for tag and I have a 3.56 GPA, and did the igetc and everything and my message says, Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated. Please contact the Housing Office at 858-534-4010 during our normal weekday office hours of 8am to 4pm…

I question here if people even have a hobby? :P

my housing message was also updated.

I have two full time jobs and I’m on here begging for a lobotomy to put me out of this misery.

[Insert obligatory housing change message here]
Lol but seriously, I’m pretty sure this means nothing. Even then, any small change in our application status will cause the posting of “clutter” from those of us who are overtly anxious about our admittance decision. I must admit I was kind of disappointed to see 10+ new pages of posts only to find that most of them are about this silly housing thing, but it’s no big deal really.

but the hype is fun tho

It sucks to come home and log on, see 75-100 new comments and think, oh nice decisions must be out, and then it is just pages and pages of people talking about the housing application.

but will the change of housing message imply another batch is coming?

I believe so.
same thing happened with the last wave

OMG I GOT ACCEPTED!
