2014 Fall UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread

And yes, good housing message as well.

@sunfulgirl‌ I’m in the same boat! As grateful as I am for getting into both schools, I really wish their Transfer Days weren’t on the exact same date -___- I’m probably going to choose UCLA’s Transfer Day over SD’s and visit SD on another day

ACCEPTED (:
UC GPA:3.42
Major Pre-reqs Completed (Y/N): Y
Intended Major: Soc
TAG?:NO
IGETC?:YES
Accepted: UCSD, UCSC (TAG) because I didn’t have the 3.5 needed for UCSD, CSULB
Denied: SDSU suuuuuuck it Aztecs
Extracurriculars (clubs, leadership, volunteer, work): work all dayyyyy
Applied for Financial Aid?: yup but denied
State (if domestic applicant): CA
Gender: F
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Nope, will be in CO for CU Boulder’s college grad for a friend (From what I’ve heard, i mean they basically just heard you around like cattle with your family and if you’re good little transfer you get a lanyard…)
My recommendation if you have never been to UCSD is take a trip on your own time, visit the campus, check out neighboring areas PB, OB, La Jolla’s beautiful but there’s nothing to do past 9pm or if you are under 65. Don’t get me wrong I’m psyched to go there but they don’t call it UC Socially Dead for nothing haha

Oh and I had the good housing message the last couple days but before that it was always the bad one.
For FUTURE TRANSFERS: DO NOT PANIC if I could wait all over again, I would check http://ccctransfer.org/university-announcements/15-ucop-system-announcements/642-uc-counselors-and-advisers-bulletin-march-2014-03-12-14</a> look at the date, wait until that date to stress out! the last two weeks have been an anxiety filled nightmare!!!

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): Work ethic, work ethic, and work ethic.

anyone else call the admissions office about a change in their schedule? I called and said I dropped the class and they said they don’t care as long as I’m still at 60 units. However it seemed so unprofessional, only because they didn’t pull up my file like every other school did to make sure I’m still eligible.

but i guess I’m fine than. They said if you drop you class but are still over 60 units and it isn’t a required math or english your fine.

Rejected last Friday as a UC-UC transfer.
gpa: 3.8 at UCSC, 4.0 at cc
Major: Computer Science and Engineering
Major Pre-reqs Completed (Y/N): Y

Got an email this morning that my decision has been changed. Got accepted.
There is still hope for those who got rejected I guess!!

SD also changed my applications status too… I am very ??? about this haha. GG SD.

@oleander0918‌ Congrats on getting into UCLA!

I was unfortunately rejected as an econ major…I’m thinking of writing an appeal to switch to math econ since I heard the major is less impacted i.e. easier to get into than as an econ major. can u confirm that?

Those who were accepted to Sixth, what are your thoughts? Pessimistic, uncertain, extremely delighted, neutral?

I for one am a little pessimistic since its away from all the other colleges…I hope that doesn’t separate us into our own little community haha unless Sixth ends up being the place to be! Matter of fact, I plan on doing that exactly!

@nowworried and @1tmac1 were you guys straight up rejected, or on the waitlist?

@eastbaytransfer‌ Straight up rejected last friday

@eastbaytransfer I was also straight up rejected… I guess they made some errors.

@chaoscuber‌

Did you call and ask them?
