2014 RD INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS count down

Since the decision is 2 weeks away lets take final statistics of the following
1. country, first interview, second interview, no interview, past record from school( yes / no to Harvard), financial aid ( yes / no)

OMG I AM FIRST! hahahaha ok so lets go…

Country: Peru

First Interview requested by me, and then a second interview in early march by an admissions officer.

past record from school??? I do not really get what you mean with that or the yes/no to Harvard.

Financial Aid - yes!

Now I know what you mean. I know of 2 kids who went to Harvard. Both have already graduated. One had gone to World debates, and the other was a tennis player

South Korea

Only one interview, in January.

A girl got accepted to Harvard back in 2007. I think that was the only Ivy acceptance in like a decade ha.

Yep

Ukraine

No interview :(

No…

Yes
@yodastreet
Were you contacted by the admissions?
Korea appears on the same list as Ukraine and it says that they arrange an interview if they need additional info ONLY… so that means, everything is pretty clear in my application.

@ macarenaps. there is another freshman girl at harvard. she’s from peru as well.

@int’lstudent’12 It doesn’t necessarily mean she’s form Macarenaps’s school

Hong Kong
No interview
None in a long time
No

Hong Kong!!!
Same here, don’t have interview or whatever
I remember there’s one guy admitted before, not sure which year.
Yes

@ Ukrgirlie: i didn’t pay attentinon. i thought you guys were just referring to countries here, not the specific schools. oh well

haha no worries, but I am curious about who this girl might be! OML

Tunisia

no ( not available here :S)

no

yes

Ukrgirlie, I was contacted for an interview because I actually live in America right now. But I’m not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, so I had to apply as an international student.

Ethiopia
NO
NO
Yes

South Africa
Got my first interview in Mid March (last week) and made me so happy (was contacted by them)
My school has sent about 1 person the whole of the USA since I have been there (small LAC)
Lots of finaid

Italy
first interview in Mid December
My school has never sent students to USA
Yes

Latin America

Just one interview requested by me!!

No, I come from a small town, and people in my school are lucky if they can go to the capital to study, I think I’m the very first person who has ever applied to Harvard from my town.

yes!! almost full

Canada (although I have gone to high school in Michigan for 4 years…)

First interview in February, contacted by alum

Yes, a couple years ago there was one. Not sure about before that.

Yes, about 50% need.

Harvard’s low acceptance rate for internationals (even lower than their ridiculous 8%) is depressing.

How do you guys already know your financial aid amounts? I thought that goes out with acceptance letters? In fact, I’m sure of it. What gives?

@ClamzoniofRI The approximate amount of finaid depens on you family’s income.
So, if it is less than $60,000 - you don’t have to contribute anything towards your educational expenses=full finaid
