i haven’t heard much about the college of education… is that hard to get into? particularly the exercise science major… is that a competitive major?

Ya ya,
…My parents actually were pretty upset about that.
My plan is to have at least a master in either human resources or children education, then my career option will be boarder.
I actually really interested in psychology and wrote both two of my essays to address that. So I don’t think just change my major preference now is satisfactory for the application.

Mrxyor,

If your resume, letters of rec, and essays are good I’m sure you have a good chance.

Yaya, I had written the reply but I haven’t met the 15 posts requirement for sending a private message. But I really appreciate your opinion and information.

mrxyor

What is your first language?

Ya ya Chinese

So since my application doesn’t get in until the semester ends at UTD, and I only have three weeks to basically move and pick classes, should I pick out an apartment to live in beforehand, or should I wait until I’m officially accepted.

I basically can send in my transcript on December 19th, so I’d find out relatively soon after, I hope. Are my chances worse since it’s so close? Also, since this is my first semester, and so far I have a solid 4.0 (only three weeks in though), but what GPA should I stay above for my first choice Computer Science, second choice Physics transfer? I want to be safe with my GPA.

Sekrim, I think you should try to keep your GPA as high as possible. 3.7ish and up.

I havent even started on the essays haha.

any one get the decision yet?

I wish. They won’t give them out until after the deadline. I think.

Could have sworn ut was rolling

I dont know because I called in and the guy actually told me that you wont get your decision until November but I know that’s bs. My app has been completed for a whole month now…so I don’t think they’re rolling or maybe not yet.

How long does it take to get the decision for people that send their transcripts in at the end of the semester? If I sent my grades December 21st, the day where grades have to be in by, how long would I have to wait for a response? I’ve applied for on-campus housing already but I’d still have to move an everything within a week or two which is tight. Plus I have to pick all my classes too.

Deadline is in October I thought

Well since you’re sending in your transcript late you’ll probably get your answer within a couple of days.

Hey guys! I transferred this fall to UT and I wouldn’t mind answering some of y’all’s questions! I’m a PR Comm major, but I did a lot of research as to who has better chances of being accepted into the school. I’d love to help whoever has questions!

DeeGeeErbear: Hiii! Let me know if I have a chance at psychology? I would love to get straight in as a psych major but if not that’s okay too.

-35 hours; 31 transferable
-Major: 1st: Psychology 2nd: COLA undeclared
GPA: 3.5 without the 2 classes that are not transferable.
Essays: Above average
Letter of Rec: Biology Prof with a PhD wrote it. She loves me.
Resume: Awesome! I have many extracurriculars and I’ve been working as well. Also honors.

-I have taken core classes as well.

If you want to live on campus, you can actually summit a housing application alone with the admission. It will only be released after you get your acceptance letter.
But it has a un-refundable process fee of $50.

Llama123,
You sound like a great contender! I would try for a 4.0 this semester to raise your gpa even higher! Psychology is the toughest major within COLA, so a high GPA will stand out the most to them. (UT loves to see grade improvement on your transcript.) also, make sure your essays point out WHY you want to do psychology or what you plan to do with it, like understanding your generation or changing their lives for the better. The key to letting UT know your interest in them is to convey that you have a desire to better yourself and “change the lives of others.” With that take on essays and a great GPA, you will be a shoe in for COLA Psychology!
