2015 RD Admission Letters...

Is it possible that you used a different email account? I would check that. I thought I’d gotten nothing when really I’d just used my other gmail account. The mail could still come on Monday, so I wouldn’t worry about the letter yet. I applied to Vanderbilt, who only notifies through mail, and my letter took two days to get to me.

If you haven’t heard anything by Monday or Tuesday (and I would err on the side of caution and wait for Tuesday), I would call your regional rep and ask if there was a problem. Could just be a system glitch.

Best of luck!

I got an email at 2 pm PST

Accepted.
Was I the only one disappointed not to get the haiku?

I check my e-mail (the one I used for the application) and still nothing. For those accepted, when you go online does it say anything different. Mine just says my application is complete- doesn’t indicate whether or not I was accepted…Maybe rejection letters come further out…I honestly think I didn’t get in, I’m a very odd applicant (great grades, very mediocre SAT, interesting background, teacher recommendations probably were alright but not a PERFECT applicant by far) but it’s my first choice so all I can do is hope for the best.

It really could just be a glitch–they sent out everything (acceptances, waitlistings, and rejections) today. A friend of mine hasn’t heard from NYU yet and they sent out the decisions via email yesterday. Don’t panic, just call the admissions office on Monday. You could also try emailing them today. If you have your regional rep’s email, do that. If not, it’s probably available online.

No worries. I didn’t get my email yet either. I say we try not to read too much into it. CONGRATS TO THOSE WHO GOT IN! Really hoping I get in!

I agree with you, we just need to wait it out. Could be a glitch, but I bet they are pretty “on it”. I was a regular decision but I assume everyone who had their notices today is as well. I’ll wait awhile and keep my fingers crossed. Sometimes the best comes last! Good luck to all of you who are still waiting like myself :)

Yeah I got my email at like 2 as well. Denied extremely hard.

Accepted!
I’m an international student and the e-mail they sent is so short. I didn’t realize I was accepted until I read it two times…

Congrat to everyone who’s accepted! And to those who get unlucky news: you’ll still be happy at somewhere else! Cheer up!!

With Reed, when I visited in the summer and all that, they pushed the individualism so much that I started to become really self aware. And it most likely did seep out a little in my application. Being denied, it makes you feel like you’re not unique enough. I still have only great things to think about Reed, but the way it’s marketed kind of caused me a bit of trouble I guess. That and my grades probably weren’t good enough, given what else I had to offer. Oh well, it wasn’t meant to be in their eyes. But this entire college process is so vicious. It’s so difficult. I really feel like I have tried my best.

I’ll have to turn it over in my head and maybe wait a year before I can evaluate it all properly. It’s been quite a journey.

I was rejected, as I anticipated. Luckily, I came to terms with it awhile ago so it didn’t hurt too badly - I will always wonder what attending Reed would have been like, though (it was my first choice). Congrats to everyone who was accepted, I’m sure those of you who enroll have a great 4 years ahead of you =)

Equestrian93, there was a haiku! It said on the website connected to the video that they anticipated disappointment, so they hid one. It’s written on the blackboard in the very last scene.

Yay! Got an acceptance email this afternoon. (:

Garrett, if you still want to go in a year or two, you can transfer!

Reed timed it really well for me, I got a mailing full of confetti saying I had been accepted and then 20 minutes later I received an email sending me to this little video they have for the kids who were accepted. It was almost creepily well timed…

yoyoma99,

I haven’t received the mail yet, and I got the email first.
I really didn’t get what the email means before watching the congrat video! Haha! Congrat everyone! I’m so excited!

WAITLISTED =0 ! I really want to go to Reed… anyone know how many people are admitted from the waitlist pool each year?

I’m disturbed that I’ve yet to hear anything from them… :(

@emmawolin and ctc414,

I’m really sorry to hear this, guys! Both of you have been very active in the Reed forum and seem to like the school very much :frowning: All I can say is, I’m sure you’ll be happy wherever you end up (and for emmawolin that might still be Reed).

Really, to everyone who’s been denied or waitlisted, don’t take it to heart! Go outside, enjoy the spring weather, find something else to think about! It’s worked for me four times so far.

Thanks Ghostt :)
