D was waitlisted at another LAC. Realistically the chances look thin – so focussing on where she got accepted, Reed being one of them. Think that’s the best approach? What the are numbers of transfer students that they receive?

Last year nine out of 616 freshmen waitlisted were admitted, 74 of 269 transfers were admitted.

Those are very respectable odds, vossron. I would definitely demonstrate interest to the school, vivacuba.

I was kind of disappointed in the fact that my friend who had like mid 1800 SAT, and pretty close to a 4.0 with a few APs got in. He did a lot of volunteering and what not, but his essays where extremely generic. He isn’t a writer at all. Not that they can really see this, but I doubt he’d be able to get through HUM 110 or whatever. He has basically sparknoted his way through high school. Based on this fact, I think Reed places a little more importance on extracurricular activities than they’d have you think. He’s also pretty rich, and even if he applied for aid, wouldn’t get any. All that really means though is that they’re a private school. Anyone hear similar stories such as this?

Not gonna lie, the glitter was kinda annoying…had to do some major cleanup.

I liked it, little sparkly reminders all over my house ^^ brilliant move by whoever thought of it!

Has anyone been accepted from the wait list yet?

On another thread someone said: “Reed is indeed an awesome school. I was waitlisted there too. But, unfortunately, I recently heard from the senior assistant dean (my admission counselor) that Reed is not going to the waitlist this year, at least for now.”
Does anyone know if this is true?
