2017 Waitlist Discussion/Results Thread

Is anyone else’s Virtual Bryn Mawr not letting them log in?

@Chloe - Definitely go for that! And build a rapport with BMC’s transfer admissions officer!

Thanks! Let’s hope we’ll meet each other next spring. :D

@letshope2013 - I was able to log in just fine. Clear your cache/cookies and try again in a few hours (or tomorrow); I couldn’t log in a couple of days ago, but VBM seems to be working now. :slight_smile: It could also be that they’re updating your financial aid award, which would mean you got in! ;)

I assume you got the same e-mail message as me last week? The one about whether or not you still wish to remain on BMC’s waiting list? (Because you didn’t respond to my question on post #31; I typed “@Hope”, though, so that may have caused some confusion!) When you’re able to log into VBM again, please let me know me whether or not you see a ‘Worklist’ or ‘PeopleTools’ link. I don’t remember previously noticing either one, but they’re on my account now (though access is currently denied to me). Thanks! :)

@FirstMSur

Oh sorry! I didn’t see it! But yes I did get the same email as you!

My VBM hasn’t let me log in since yesterday morning, so I doubt they are updating my FA award. How many days did your VBM not work?

My account had Worklist and People Tools too but I had that since maybe a week or so ago.

@Hope - Maybe it’s your browser? What does it say on your screen?

I always use Google Chrome; sometimes VBM works on it, sometimes it doesn’t. I usually have to wait two to three days to be able to access my account after a block out, or I switch to a supported browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) if it’s urgent.

When VBM doesn’t work on Chrome, the log-in fields don’t even show. All I get is an error message and a recommendation to use either IE or MF. This happened a couple of days ago; it was basically a compatibility problem. (EDIT: Actually, I just checked, and apparently there was a system update on June 12th. That may have been it. There will be system updates tomorrow, too.)

But it still could be an FA update—maybe the system’s just slow! :)

Hmm, I wonder if the links signify anything for us? I wish more waitlisted girls would chat. That way, we’d have a bigger pool to test!

I usually use either my phone or Firefox on my laptop, neither worked. I also tried Internet Explorer with no luck.

When I enter my ID and password it says “Your User ID and/or Password are invalid”. So I’m not too sure what’s exactly going on.

That’s odd. Change your password. Click ‘Password help’, then ‘Password Reset’. Try logging in with your new one.

@letshope2013 - Hey, girl! Have you been able to log into VBM since that day??

@FirstMSur Yes! Passwords need to be reset every 6 months, so I just had to call to reset mine! By the way, are you international? Or do you live in the United States? :)

@Hope - Ah, an extra security measure! Glad you were able to solve it. :slight_smile: Did you ask about the waiting list during your call?

I’m an American living domestically! :smiley: You? (And have you heard from BMC yet? Or know someone who has?)

@FirstMSur I also live in the United States and I didn’t ask about the waitlist during my call. I don’t know anyone that has gotten off the waitlist lately.

@Hope - 'Murcans! ;)

Did you get an e-mail from BMC yesterday? I still can’t figure out what it means!

I got the email too :smiley: Twice actually
It’s just the technical issue I guess

I just signed a four year contract with the ministry and the prime minister that I will get their funding and graduate from the University of Iowa so

goodbye to my BMC dream :(

I hope I will do summer school or something tho

@Chloe - You were right; I called Admissions and was transferred to Technical Support. The lady on the other end said there’d been a mass technical error (non-Mawrtyrs aren’t supposed to receive ProofPoint messages), and that the department had been taking inquirers’ e-mails off the list for the past couple of days. If you contact them, they’ll fix the problem for you. Got my hopes up! :(

What are the consequences of negating your contract? Can you reach a compromise? BMC meets full FA, so, unless you become liable for the ministry’s funds upon contract dissolution, you should be safe to reapply and enroll as a transfer.

Definitely do that to show interest! :)

If I don’t graduate from Iowa I will have to pay back the scholarship. It’s the deal.
And I already got into Iowa Honors program and got to know many Hawkeyes which are really nice people and I doubt I wanna go to BMC anymore
Probably cause I’m angry that they admitted an idiot from my country but whatever

Wish you luck tho~

Hey girls! I was just wondering…for those of you who have received email from BMC in June informing us that there were still spots open in the class, have you hear back from them?
