2019 NCSSM Future Applicants

Just finished every footprint on my UniApp. Now I wait for a month…

For those of you that applied this year, if you had credit from middle school for Math I and/or Math II, do you have to get a transcript from your middle school? Same question (and presumably same answer) for Spanish I or II?

I understood there is a rubric that NCSSM uses and you get more points if you have all A’s so I am wondering to what extent that includes middle school years.

Thanks

@yearstogo - My kid’s Math I, II and III grades were on her high school transcript, even though she took those classes in high school. She had A’s in high school (but a B or two in math in middle school)—and she got in a few years back (if that’s helpful).

@yearstogo I took Math 1, 2, and 3 in middle school and they showed up on my high school transcript. They just weren’t calculated in my GPA

To correct my post #205, her Math I, II and III classes that she took in middle school showed up on her high school transcript—but like above—were not in her GPA.

My middle school math grades also showed up on my transcript, but it wasn’t calculated into my GPA.

I’m kind of stressing out bc I looked back at my application on cfnc and when I saw leadership activities and math and science activities in the extracurricular section of the app it says “essays” but I went back to my google doc which had all of the questions and everything directly copy and pasted from the online application and it said to “list” those activities… so what’d you guys do??? (essay or list?)

@smath08 I listed most of them, but there were some I felt I needed to explain cause they aren’t as well known

5 more days!!!

so you didn’t write like an actual essay for them right?

@smath08 i just listed them, with explanation as needed

@lliiaa I did the same thing

ok, I did the same thing. I was just nervous when I saw “essay” lol… only 5 more days though!!!

@smath08 IK it’s crazy to think decisions are coming out finally after the long wait

@smath08 @oralsurgery01 Yeah it’s getting really close. I should start stocking up on ice cream to eat and cry when I get rejected

@SomeGuy9 I was thinking the same thing. The applicants from my school are bringing donuts the wednesday after too

@oralsurgery01 I should get the applicants from my school to order pizza or something. There’s a lot of them and nearly half make it every year
