@janevyl I’m trying not to say much to respect the person, but a very reliable source hinted it won’t take that long. Won’t be giving out any specifics though, as I don’t have specifics myself. Just a general timeframe.

Question: does anyone know if it’s possible to get merit-based scholarship after RD decisions are posted?
Like some schools say that you get $ on your acceptance letter. Does ND do that? Thanks.
FWIW last year, letters were mailed on the 19th. The only source that knows the exact date is the admissions office and I know they don’t share that information, so any guess is just that, a guess. The last couple of years would indicate that it would be some time before the middle of next week, but who knows. You will find out when Admissions announces on their Twitter feed, most likely, as that is how they’ve operated the past few years. The only thing that would surprise me would be if they released decisions early in the day.

@IvyHopeful98 It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to look at ND’s history and be able to extrapolate that decisions will most likely come before the middle of next week. But trust me on this, ND is not in the practice of sharing this info ahead of time. I do know that sometimes they will give some guidance offices a heads up the day before, but I have heard in the past that people have rock solid info that turns out to be incorrect. Regardless, you most likely won’t have to wait too much longer.
@ejcclc @c0IIegeb0und I’m not going to get more specific, again, because I told him/her I would respect his/her trust in telling me. The reason I posted in the first place is so that nobody would be expecting to wait until Wednesday as another poster said was possible. But I do know more than what I’m sharing.
It’s mostly common sense that it will be early in the day. This is the first time that Notre Dame will be using the portal. They won’t want the darn thing to crash when thousands of applicants try to look at the same time. That would be a disaster. The best way to avoid it is to manage the volume. By releasing very early in the morning, the east coast kids will be on their way to school, the midwest and central kids will be just starting to wake up, and the west coast kids will still be sleeping. And Friday should be the day, as they aren’t going to release during Holy Week - that’s just not Notre Dame!
Lol they released it late at night for REA… At like 8 pm in fact. They’ve used the portal before, it will almost certainly be at night
@collegefan6 I hope it’s early, but is there any proof to back it up? I understand the logic, but ND might just do what most other colleges do.
They’re not gonna release it early morning. They didn’t for REA and it went fine.
I don’t see them releasing early in the day. Schools realize this is a stressful time for applicants and that perhaps receiving a decision at home in an environment where a crying jag (denial) or wild celebration (acceptance) is ok rather than the middle of AP Physics class is better for everyone. Also, there will be those who are denied whose first inclination is to call admissions. Releasing later in the day eliminates the possibility of this as there won’t be anyone to answer the phone. My guess is that at some point in the next couple of days you are notified on the portal of the time decisions are released. I have no horse in this race, but have been through the ND admissions process twice recently and am only giving an opinion based on my experience.
EA was far fewer people checking the portal at once. This is a lot more and I would think they want to get it right.
Nothing solid to back it up. Just suspicion based on comments from friends of friends close to ND and just trying to be logical. For those who don’t believe, you can check Friday night. I’m going to be checking Friday morning.
I am going to check tonight and tomorrow morning too.
