****2020 Notre Dame RD Applicant Discussion****

@Fiona1997 It may have been there for a few weeks. But I’ve checked their page a ton this week, and I’ve seen it every time. I also vowed not to wear an ND shirt this week, just because I don’t want to draw attention to my impending denial haha.

Hi everybody, I’m new to this thread. Does anyone know when decisions will be released?

@DominicBayer In short, nobody is certain, but the last few pages are filled with discussion. Likely this week.

Thanks, @IvyHopeful98! Maybe it’ll be today as a St. Patrick’s gift. I just hope I get accepted after a UChicago rejection. Good luck to you!

@DominicBayer No problem. My personal belief is Friday, but I’d love if it were today. Sorry to hear about your rejection as well. Thanks for the wishes, and best of luck to you too!

LOL if they don’t release decisions today, they will have missed out on a GOLDEN opportunity! I’m even wearing my favorite ND shirt! GoIrish!

I actually feel peaceful right now… last night I had a panic attack… but now all I think about is summer weather… birdies… flowers… this is weird…

Anyone know the stat for number of applicants that were deferred from REA? I’m fairly sure they don’t release an acceptance rate for deferred applicants, though.

Both of my daughters were deferred EA and admitted RD. Don’t know what the stat is, and no, they don’t release it.

@ProbDeferred ~800 were deferred this year and ~10-20% will be admitted

As I said before, they don’t release a separate statistic for EA deferrals that are subsequently accepted, so @Taylor_16’s info is pretty much conjecture. Probably pretty close, though. The acceptance rate for RD last year was slightly over 16% and admissions will tell you that deferrals are granted the same consideration as RD applicants so it would stand to reason that the acceptance rate is around the same as the overall rate.

@ejcclc I found that on the notre dame website

@Taylor_16 I’d be curious as to where on the website you saw this info.

@blourring You are right, truly the absolute perfect day to release! How many universities could claim this day as their own?

@ejcclc http://admissions.nd.edu/connect/news/54264-notre-dame-restrictive-early-action-program-for-first-year-applicants/

http://enrollmentdivision.nd.edu/news/63365-notre-dame-admits-1-610-early-action-applicants-to-the-class-of-2020/

@Taylor_16 I’m glad that statistic was so well buried. It looks like the admit rate for deferrals is much closer to 10%. Wouldn’t have wanted to go through the stress of knowing those odds. Although not specific stats, it still is pretty daunting. Best of luck to you in the next few days!

Hopefully your wait is short and good luck to all of you.

any chance decisions are coming tonight?

if they don’t come out today they’re missing out on a huge opportunity

@penn2020 maybe they wouldn’t want to announce it on St. Patrick’s Day…it would be awesome for those that got in…but for the majority of applicants…it wouldn’t go down as a very lucky day. :-SS :((
