****2020 Notre Dame RD Applicant Discussion****

@PickyParent go to portal first

@pickyparent just go to the portal.

Does anyone know when fin aid comes out?

Sucks that you know there is a decision waiting for you in the portal, but you have no way of getting it to the portal :frowning:

D got in – so happy for her after double rejections in 2 days ( Northwestern and JHU) — gpa 4.35, ACT 33, Jesuit hschool

Got deferred in December, now waitlisted. I’m crushed. I applied to Mendoza, which is considerably more competitive. Does anyone know if I had applied to the regular university, if my odds would have been better? I was praying that, even if I didn’t get into Mendoza, I would still get into the university.

Did y’all not receive emails with portal info?

Should we start a spring transfer tread now?

Disregard.

I got in!!!

Waitlisted… Anyone know how hard it is to come off the waitlist?

got the email- Accepted!

Rejected. This was S’s dream school. Heavy emotions here as he says its fine. Competition was tough but everything happens for a reason. Good luck to those accepted! What a special place! To those who didn’t get in…never stop pushing yourself…find the place you are truly meant to thrive!

congrats

Accepted to WashU in St. Louis… waitlisted to Notre Dame, no rhyme or reason I guess. However, congrats to everyone else accepted I wish you the best of luck if you choose to attend it is truly a great institution. As for everyone else waitlisted or rejected, if you aspiring for Notre Dame I assure you that you are a hard working, high achieving person that has been accepted to some other great places. So keep your head held high.

Haha, I’ve am the opposite to you! Waitlisted St. Louis and accepted notre dame!

Well, I’m gonna take a break from posting on CC now that I’ll be waiting even longer for what will most likely be rejection anyways. It was great talking to all of you, and best of luck with whatever you do.

deferred then rejected, 2190 SAT, 34 ACT, 4.4 GPA, top 2% of class, countless extracurriculars… like, what?

To those who have been rejected:

Last year D2 go deferred during REA, then rejected. It was devastating. She had been dreaming about going to ND since she was 10 years old when her brother started his freshman year there. I could hear her sobbing in her room that evening and at odd moments for many days to come, and I had plenty of tears of my own. It took at least a week to get over the worst of the sharp sting.
She then had to move on to embracing a new reality. Despite still feeling like a “reject” she started her freshman year 900 miles from where she expected to be and forced herself to dive right in.She has never been as happy in her life as she has been since September. She has made amazing friends, has learned to be independent, has had wonderful academic and social experiences…so much more than she ever imagined.
Wherever you end up embrace it(!) or you will never move on to discover all the new adventures and possibilities that life will offer.

Congrats to all who will attend ND next year. It’s an amazing place. But for those who didn’t get in, it will get better…

Son was deferred EA, accepted! College of Science. Blessed and humbled.

Thoughts are with those not accepted!
