Here is a thread to discuss what we think the acceptance rates will be for the entering class of 2021:
Put whatever school you think or are wondering about and hopefully we can all think through it and help!

@bclv What’s your reasoning? That seems low
UNC 29%
Interesting that you think it’ll rise @MissSuzyQ it was 26% this year.
@guitar321 Really? I thought it was 30 percent (increasing from 29 percent the year before) this year. Well, tells me you can’t trust Google. In that case, I predict 25 percent.
@MissSuzyQ yeah google’s acceptance rate results are a few years old… really annoying
@guitar321
I think Yale (and maybe a couple other ivies) will stagnate at their current acceptance rate. Their applicant pool will receive the influx of applicants, like previous years, but this will most likely be balanced out by students who chose to apply to an increasingly popular non-Ivy like MIT and UChicago (UChicago particularly will see another decrease, but less of one than last year).
Yale just built 2 new residential colleges, so there is space for approximately a 150 more lucky students each year. This will probably increase the acceptance rate by a negligible ~0.5 - 1%.
I think NYU will be 28% and UIUC at 65%
I feel like Stanford’s acceptance rate will go up to 6/7% after all the negative publicity with Brock Turner. I agree with the 4% for Harvard since Malia Obama is attending the school, and I think this could have encouraged more students to apply.
@DoctorMD I agree. I also think this has to do with sports schools. Like Michigan and Ohio State both did very well this year in football, which will probably drive up the number of applicants to their schools. Likewise, schools that do well in men’s basketball this year will probably observe an increased number of apps.
