2021 Stocking Stuffers Thread

I think you can get handwarmers through Costco online too. My sister has bought them by the gross for years as she’s always cold. I’ve received a few at handout places like Zoo Holiday lights and thought that was a clever gift.

This daughter is a minimalist but really likes quality when she buys stuff. It’s very difficult to find things I know she’ll like within my budget.

She is, however, cheap in many ways and uses my Amazon membership to avoid paying shipping.

I am in a bit of a quandary over stocking stuffers (and gifts in general) for my 27 yo daughter this year. My old standby was gift cards, until two years ago when I got stuck with cards to a place that went out of business. My next standby is usually consumables - chocolates, etc., but this year she is on a diet. I usually buy her some clothes, but again with the diet, I can’t do that. I will probably do the usual socks and tea, but she does have an awful lot of both of those already. She is also a minimalist and needs and wants nothing for her apartment!

What about a protein bar and or protein powder she likes? The travel size or individual pouches are nice. Nunns for adding electro lights to her water? A nice refillable water bottle? Seeds to plant something?

Does she like art? She could choose something for her apartment. Or how about a nice indoor tree/plant?

Kind mini chewy bars are really good! They are a little more pricey than regular bars and are very tasty. We will likely put these in stocking too.

We would love to give wine or olive oil, but the kid who would really love this will be traveling by plane…

I just bought some bombas gripper slippers to do something a little different than socks. Thanks for the idea!
And instead of tea, I will add different flavors of hot chocolate.

What about things she can use for cooking or meal prep like OXO gadgets?

Not a stocking stuffer but Skinnytaste Cookbooks are great for people watching their weight.

Maybe just try different gift cards from national chains where more likely to stay in business. Would it fit in her food planning to give a Starbucks card? Maybe GC to favorite clothing store or one that can be used in family of stores (banana republic, athlete, gap, old navy all under same umbrella). My girls also love Target cards for either clothes or something for home. You can also get Amazon cards. Another favorite of my Ds is Ulta to have a little money to try new makeup or hair products, it’s sometimes fun to splurge on more expensive brands.or if really generous a GC for a streaming service.

I think both of mine are getting a finger guard to use when grating cheese. Also, not fancy, but one loves super fine ink pens ( .037) that are hard to find in store and she goes through a lot as teacher.

@helpingmom40 — li hing is a seasoning. It’s a bit tart and sweet. My kids feel it is great with gummy things.

It is one of the treats my Kids consistently purchase for themselves.

I got excited when I saw your post, since my kids love sweet and sour plums, etc. I looked on Amazon, and their are li hing gummy bears, etc., but the reviews are kind of brutal. I guess you have to go to the source?

I have bought reusable cloth make up removers, stainless straws/cleaning brushes, and a bamboo utensil set for my minimalist/eco-conscious D.

Hm… your post reminded me of seeing cloth towels at Williams Sonoma that are meant to be used instead of paper towels. That may be a good little stocking stuffer for my eco-conscious son.

The Last Object people have been in our stockings for the last three years- Last Swab (round & pointy reusable swabs), Last Tissue (in a silicon case) and Last Cotton Rounds. They have added masks this year, but we all have so many masks that I don’t think we will go there!

We also gave them bamboo toothbrushes and toothpaste in chewable tablets (instead of in tubes), which they liked.

I use these instead of paper towels (for everything except patting raw chicken dry). I love them! They are absorbent, sturdy, and I toss them in the top rack of the dishwasher to clean.

Can someone put a link for the make up remover cloth?

@thumper1, this is the one we have:

@helpingmom, that is what they use as a ‘sponge’ in the UK & Ireland. Took me a while to get my head around it, but once I did I was hooked.

Yes , I use them at the sink instead of a sponge. They rinse clean and don’t smell. I throw them in the washer and dryer with the dish towels. I first bought them at Trader Joe’s but got my last batch from Amazon. Thanks for the reminder to get more for stockings.

Thanks, might be at Trader Joes later this week- will look for these!
