Iā€™ve been reading through some of the posts in this thread, and USC is my top choice in terms of the places I applied to to transfer, so I figured Iā€™d drop my current stats (is that the right phrase for it?).

Current year: Freshman
Major: Currently undeclared, but I applied to the Comparative Literature program and I want to apply to SCA next year if I get in so I can minor in film production.
GPA: 4.0 from a California community college
Credits: Iā€™ll have 55 by the end of the summer
Other schools I applied to: Pepperdine (rejected), University of Michigan (didnā€™t realize they only accepted junior level transfers), Stanford (still waiting), Harvard (still waiting).
Extra: Iā€™m in my collegeā€™s Honors Program, I recieved an invitation to Phi Theta Kappa earlier on in this semester, Iā€™ve been working through USCā€™s general education requirements and will have more than half of them completed by fall of 2022, I want to walk onto USCā€™s womenā€™s swim team (or the team wherever I get in) for the 2022/2023 season.

Anyway, thatā€™s all Iā€™ve got. I donā€™t think my answers to the application questions ended up being that strong, so Iā€™m a little worried about that (I think it was kind of a subconscious thing and I may have actually undershared), but I can always reapply next year and Iā€™m kind of holding out hope for spring admittance.

You look like a competitive applicant. I think the extracurricular and school involvement are what you are mostly missing(but thatā€™s not a reason to get ejected). Did you applied to any UCā€™s(Some offer sophomore level transfers)?

Any comm majors?

Oh yeah, I definitely agree Iā€™m missing some extracurricular activities on my apps. Pretty much all my classes have been online so far and Iā€™m from the place my school is located anyway, so itā€™s kind that Iā€™ve had some issues getting myself to go hang out on campus instead of just studying at home, but if Iā€™m not accepted anywhere Iā€™ve applied, Iā€™ll certainly be working to change that next year. And I didnā€™t actually apply to any UCs this cycle, but UCLA will almost definitely be tied with USC for my top choice if I have to send in apps for the 23/24 application cycle.

Definitely keep that growth mindset. Transferring to another school is never easy, but itā€™s not impossible. Do your own research, and find opportunities that you actually find joyful yet beneficial. If you want it, stay motivated and work hard. Wish you best of luck

Lol ok. I will

Dear Fann,

Can you provide more information for Viterbi TTP? D got denied as freshman but got invitation for transfer program. Thanks

Does anyone have an idea when the decisions would be out? Also, I was wondering what the acceptance rate for a Trojan transfer applicant is?

hey iā€™m a lurker in this thread and just had a couple questions! I was a spring admit for the current 4-year Iā€™m attending and during my gap semester, I worked a 40 hour (a week) job and took 15 credits making me a full time student. but because of this, I finished with a lower gpa. how much will USC consider the impact of being a full-time student and working a full-time job. also, I know that USC only considers gpa for classes that are transferable for credits. I got a lower grade in a class that is not transferable, but it is on my transcript. will it be considered when my app is evaluated?
