I agree with you @lucyvanpelt I don’t think PSU takes a holistic approach to each applicant. It’s not humanly possible with nearly 60,000 applicants. However, IMO, if they consider more than just grades and test scores, then some might consider the process holistic.
Maybe they should call it ‘modified holistic’ :)) :)) :))

No other internet issues here so it’s weird @natalie2 , @beejdoop@aaa1245? Yours still down?
Just called the admissions office… they said that the crash was caused by both decisions and a malfunction, was only told that decisions are coming out by the end of the week.
well now portal working fine. No new message for us, still under review
At least site is working
Hope after midnight tonight a wave goes out
Good luck to all
Alum here…son applied back in fall with high stats and still waits. PSU IS his top choice hands down. Amazing to see how many kids on the blogs who applied EA to PSU through Common App are now not serious in attending PSU. That’s a big problem with going to the Common App!
@citymama9 , approx 7% of classes have over 100 students (collegedata.com). That 7% represents the common entrance to major courses. Here are a handful of examples:
Acct 211 - 350 students
Biol 110 - 335 students
Biol 129 - 225 students
Biol 141 - 450 students (capacity up to 650)
Chem 110 - 235 students
Chem 112 - 330 students
Econ 102 - 290 students
Finance 301 - 690 students
Math 110 (calculus for business) - 280 students
Management 301 - 500 students
Marketing 301 - 305 students
Psych 100 - 330 students
sociology 119 - 700 students
statistics 200 - 240 students
The above numbers represent enrollment in only one section, so other sections may have fewer or more students. Lesson that my Penn Stater learned: become really good friends with at least one TA (teachers assistance) per class and go to office hours with questions.
Also some courses have large lectures combined with small discussion groups.
