2090-->2250+ in 1 month?

I was wondering if this is doable for the December SAT. My current scores are 690M, 690CR, 710WR. I was thinking about doing a lot of prep during my weeklong thanksgiving break and buying Direct Hits toughest vocab. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I got a 1900 my first time and got a 2150 the next time so it is definitely doable. just do a lot of practice, work on managing your time and make sure you feel comfortable on your test day.

I got 1680 the first time and after a month’s preparation i got 2110 , so i say GO FOR IT !! I’m sure you can do it !!

I’ve take the SAT three times already so I’m not really sure how much I can go up on the 4th time.

Yes, I do think it is possible, but it would require quite a bit of work. I raised my score over 300 points from 2010, but that took about 3-4 months. The problem is that learning vocab requires time, and it has to be something you do constantly over a longer period of time. I memorized 10 new words a day for the 3-4 month period, and for you, you might have to memorize 20+ words a day.

I think math and writing are the easiest to improve on, since math requires memorizing formulas, and writing is about memorizing grammar that collegeboard will usually use commonly. Reading was always my hardest subject, but memorizing vocab will get you quite a bit of points.

I suggest that you get started now and do some each day, not just wait until the break.

I wish you the best of luck! :D

yes yes!! I went from a 2040 on a practice test about 3-4 weeks before taking the test and i got a 2220 on the test.

I agree with Liddebate. math and writing really are the easiet to improve on. Math repeats pretty much the same TYPES of problems and skills so just practice a couple times and that should raise your score a little bit. I would practice writing essays if I were you.

Good luck!!

Wow, that is a fantastic increase, lalalove! I don’t think I have the capacity to improve so quickly! Congrats on your amazing score!

How’d you go from a 1680 to 2000+ !? @ Molectron

Just as liddebate and lalalove7 said, math and writing don’t require much preparation, the hard part is reading. Not being good at memorizing vocabulary, I organized new words in a way that let me read one set of 30 new words every night, and by reading them over and over again, i memorized them without actually memorizing them. I used College Board’s blue book and i explained all the words I didn’t know, well not exactly all of them, just the ones needed to answer the question, and that’s how I did it.

Definately doable! I got a 2090 the first time and I raised it to a 2260 in two months so I’m sure with a lot of studying you can do the same in a month. Good luck!

Easily doable, if you have the required tenacity. I scored an 1880 a month before my first test; I got a 2270.
