I'm just wondering if most people do it. Who didn't write it and still got in? Is it beneficial?

i didnt write it and got in

I wrote it, but from what I’ve seen mine was pretty different from anyone else’s. I didn’t realize it would be at the time but then I saw a lot of other people’s…

I also didnt write it and got in

i was lazy and didn’t write it. got in.

didn’t write, got in! it seems truly optional

wrote it, got in. I think that it was this essay that got me into Wharton and perhaps even JWS.

it seems like if you can write a great/unique 217 essay, you should write it, because it can definitely help. but if you don’t think yours will be all that good you don’t need to bother.

I didnt write it either and got in. Seems like they’re telling the truth when they say it’s optional, Truly. :)

i wrote it and got in. the great thing about this topic is that anything works. i had already written a short essay about my mom/home life for tufts and just stuck it in. you dont have to write a special essay for this prompt; if you’ve already written a paper about yourself for another school (which im sure you’ll have to do at some point), why not submit it?
