2200 on the actual sat test; 2080 on the diagnostic sat test by PR review

hey there!
i'm posting this thread to get out some anger and frustration... I'm currently
taking the princeton review course to improve my CR score and my overall SAT score(my superscore is a 2200 with CR=680). I just got the report back from the review class on my first diagnostic test and they told me that I apparently got a 2080! How could this happen!? Maybe someone can shed some light on this? It's probable that I forgot all the SAT stuff in the course of four months but I sure wasn't expecting such a low grade... Please help!

2200 on the actual sat test; 2080 on the diagnostic sat test by PR review

You got a 2200 on the actual, so go party.

^ i'd wish. but the point I'm trying to get across here is whether or not
this has EVER happened to those who has taken PR review.

lol don't worry about that much, just go over the course to see how they teach you.
when did you take the PR course. I'm planning to take one SAT prep course but I don't know which to choose. Is PR good ???

PR tests are harder than the real ones.

^ Exactly. Although oddly enough I never got close to an 800 CR on the blue book tests (more like low 700s) and yet I got one on the real test.

So are the standardized tests getting easier in comparison to older tests?

Do you really think Princeton Review is harder? I actually think it's one of those prep books that makes the test (any test) look easier than it is.

But that's not to say that getting a 2080 on it is despicable. First of all, like someone said before, all that matters is the real test's score. I don't know why you took a diagnostic test after taking the real test anyway. If you wanted to bring it up, you know that the Critical Reading is the thing to work on. That's your diagnosis right there.

Secondly, every SAT is different. Maybe the diagnostic test you took had a lot more material that was challenging to you than the real test you took. Of course, there's always the crap shoot of vocabulary words in the CR section. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

You have a 2200 superscore, but what about your best score in one sitting? Is it around 2080?

I did the PR book tests, and I got low to mid 600's. On the real test I got a 2070 the first time around.

Everyone I know did much better on the real SAT than PR's, and not by a small amount-- by at least 200 points. PR's diagnostic test is harder because they want you to pay the $1000 for their course.

^ my score in one sitting was 2160. I'm taking the Princeton review course to boost up my critical reading but I'm not so sure yet if it's helpful... anyways, thank you guys all for your responses.

I think courses are generally a rip-off - there's nothing they can teach you that you couldn't learn by yourself with a $20 book. But hey, if you're enrolled, make the best of it. I agree with itsasmallworld - the PR tests are harder because they want you to feel as if you need their course.

PR review course is the biggest ripoff of all time, unless you're trying to improve math scores...
