I'm a junior in NJ and just got back my PSAT score (221). I know that last year the cut off was at 224, but is there any way do you guys think that I could have just made the cut this year for the class of 2016? If anyone hasn't gotten it back yet and wants to know answers to the test or anything like that comment down below. Thanks so much! :)

That score would have worked for the classes of 2008-2011 and 2013. They go up and down a few points every year. It might happen. It could be close.

Here is a link that gives historical data (referenced by Wasatch Writer above): http://www.collegeplanningsimplified.com/NationalMerit.html

The cut-off scores for NMSF for the Class of 2016 will not be announced until next Fall, at about this time.

Sorry to say, but the cutoff would probably increase this year since every year scores get higher as test takers become more competitive.

is the increase in scores more than a point if it increases? i’m asking because in 2015, the qualifying score for California was 222 but in 2014 it was 223 - i got a 223 this year so i’m hoping it won’t jump to 224 for 2016?
