2290: Retake?

740 M, 750 CR, 800 W

This was my first time with very little studying. I got a 35 on the ACT, if that's important.

A 35 ACT and a 2290 SAT are great scores! No need to retake…

Agreed. You shouldn’t need to retake unless your going to a top ivy-school. Though with some studying raising your SATs (which can’t hurt), you’ll be even better. By the way, can you briefly explain how you scored 2290, this means the classes you took, books you read, etc…

I wouldn’t retake them if I were you. I would if I had two high-700s/800 scores and one section in the 600s, but since you’re well-above 700 in all three sections, I would not bother.

Just don’t send in the 2290 and use the 35 on the ACT instead. If you have to submit the SAT score, retake.

I would retake them if that was your first time. You’ll undoubtedly score something above 2300 the 2nd time.

What schools are you looking at?

I think if academia is one of your strong-points, study and retake. You may very well get the 2400. You have the aptitude to do so.

My top choices are MIT and Stanford. I think I’m going to retake it after the summer, if only because of my math score. I’ll definitely study at least a little over the summer.

if you achieved such a high score without studying, you definitely have the potential to get a higher score. In the case of trying to get into MIT and Stanford, it would probably be a good idea to retake it? Since you are competing with such a large population, a higher score wouldn’t hurt, also considering that you barely studied for the first one, it shouldn’t be too hard to get a higher score.

Also as dylandlima said, would you like to share what study books you used, if any?
