2350 SAT. 32 ACT. Should i retake ACT?

I would like to go to Stanford, Caltech, USC, or some other school in California for Computer Science.

I expect to get some need based aid, but basically I have to pay for college without help from my parents

Should I try to up my ACT score? I did <2-3 hours of studying for it. Also should I try to up my SAT SCore?

You’re fine, don’t even worry about it! Congrats on being done with standardized testing!

This is a pointless thread - don’t send anyone your ACT scores and you’re fine.

Yes, you should try to get your ACT score to 36 and take your SAT again and again until you get to at least 2380. Duh.

Sorry, I shouldn’t have been so flip. I missed the part about having to pay a lot yourself. Those scores are excellent and you could likely qualify for substantial aid, even full scholarships, at many schools. I hope you have some financial safeties on your list. Good luck. Stop testing.

Thank you guys very much! I have 2 friends who have told me to retake the ACT, but I’m still thinking about it; I’d much rather stop testing and pursue my passions.

^Then do that. You already have a 2350, geez… lol

delete this stupid thread, stop trying to make everyone feel bad about themselves! you already have a damn 2350 on your SAT and there is no need to retake the ACT. Its cause of people like you that people get depressed when they get low scores because of your selfishness

The only reason you would retake it is if you wanted to send your ACT scores or both SAT and ACT scores.

Sanguinee, Actsat2400 - Why are you people so rude?? Do you honestly think that the OP posted with the purpose of making others feel bad?? Why be so rude with your comments? I think these forums are a place where we should feel comfortable asking questions and not fear being ridiculed… BelieveInJesus took the insults well (although he/she may not have seen the most recent one) but comments like yours have no place in a forum like this.

@my3gr8boyz its called commons sense…if you have a 2350 on your SAT then why would you even think about taking the ACT?..

don’t stop taking these until you get 2355

I’m going to be facetious xP. Based on all the info that you gave us (2350 SAT, 32 ACT), Stanford and Cal Tech are going to be crapshoots because you made no mention of your leadership qualities and EC’s. USC is a match/safety.

Your SAT is fantastic…just send SAT and forget ACT

I would say based on the rather copious amount of applicants with perfect or near perfect SAT/ACT scores (superscored or non superscored), it would increase your chances of being accepted by top tier schools if you scored high on both standardized tests. If you do poorly on the ACT, if you choose to retake it, just do not submit it. As it stands, I would say you have a decent chance with a 2350 SAT score, but why not show that you can go above and beyond a score well on the ACT as well? FYI: I have a 33 ACT (34 superscored), SAT 2120 (not near as high as yours). Best of Luck!

I’m in a similar situation, I got a 2350 on the SAT and a 32 on the ACT. I’m signed up to take the ACT. Should I go take it or just not go and know that I wasted 70 dollars to sign up? If I do well on the ACT then I can offer tutoring in it or what not
