28 AP Tests

^Are you implying that an excellent essay will get someone in even with just decent academics?

Most people take under 10 so chill out with your modesty about taking only 20

I’m a failure… I’ve only taken 7 and I’m a JUNIOR. :(

^^If your school does not allow or offer you the ability to take numerous APs, I doubt that colleges will care all too much. They just want to make sure that you are taking the most rigorous classes that your school offers. Granted, they might like the initiative of a student who studies APs on his or her own.

For me 1 sophomore year…planned 6 next year… Not a fail compared to my school, however. Most kids take 4 at the end of jr year

Is this a joke? Few schools make it feasible to take more than that many AP classes, no matter how qualified the student, because of scheduling issues.

I plan to take 5 next year (sophomore). Seems completely normal here, but then again, CCers are insane…

^Heh, I would have self-studied in 10th grade if I knew I could. Because I didn’t, I only took 2 tests last year(Calc BC and Chem)

Ill be a sophomore and taking 4 AP classes., but self studying 3(maybe less or more, idk lol)

I know a true story about this girl, who had a 2.something GPA and got in Stanford becuase of her essay. She wrote an inspirational story about how she realized a little too alte how important school was and started trying really hard.

looking at the first few pages of this thread I’m amazed by how many APs some CCers are taking. My school only offers 14-ish but its not really possible to take more than 8 or so over the course of high school.

My school offers almost all the AP classes, and they will schedule any AP test there for a student, but you have to pay extra if it’s not a class offered (I think it’s 100 if the class is not offered and just the regular 87 if you’re self studying an exam that is already offered there, or taking the class and the exam).

Only ones we don’t have are Italian, Japanese, and Russian. Scheduling conflicts make it hard to take more than 4-5 AP classes in a year though, unfortunately, so nobody actually ends up taking all those classes. Tests, sometimes people get close.

My school offers everything but world history and human geography.

22 I think. School doesn’t offer all the AP Languages, just Spanish Lang and Lit, and AP English Lang and Lit. Disappointment actually since they offer French classes but no AP French. I would have loved to learn Italian or German

I don’t know what mine offers. But with IB classes and AP it would seem too much for me. Wish I could do 20 or so.

Bump so this doesn’t disappear on the 10th page.

My school offers like 20ish APs, they really don’t offer too many of the ‘particular’ APs like Physics C’s and Music Theory. Oddly enough, not even a WH or EH class.

In my entire AP career, I’ll probably be lucky to take like 15 AP tests, just 13 short of the guy the OP mentioned…
