Any reason only a topic about Harvard's admission rates is featured as opposed to any other schools? This whole website stinks of prestige whoriness. Seriously, a whole forum dedicated to the Ivy League? Why not other athletic leagues?

kman1988 - and, Wesleyan, to its credit, has never been test optional. :D

Which little three are you guys talking abouut?
i have always hear of swath, williams,an amherst as the little three...so im kinda confused.

What's wrong with being test optional?

And just to point this out. I would say that Bowdoin attracts the skiing population too. It has a pretty big cross over applicant pool with Wesleyan. And Bowdoin has switched to only giving grants and not giving loans anymore as well. I dont know the numbers yet...but i think there was just a small increase in application numbers.
Earlier this year Wesleyan has a 40% increase in ED apps. So i guess this kinda goes along with those numbers...it is becoming a mmore recognized/sough after school

zfox001 - there should have been a lot more transparency before Bowdoin (and, later Middlebury) went off on their own to become test-optional. It was supposed to have been a way for smaller. lesser known colleges to increase their diversity, but, the numbers indicate more white kids took advantage of the option than URMs did.

My son reports that Wesleyan is a popular choice at his high school because it employs the Common App without any school-specific supplement. In other words, the marginal effort to apply to Wesleyan is another click of the computer mouse. I don't know if this is entirely correct, but in an era in which so many are applying to 10-12 colleges, having a few "easy applications" on the list makes sense.

^^that is true. however, most ppl realize there's no additional supplement only after they've already decided to apply. It's one of the biggest FAQs on the Wesleyan CC forum (whether there's an additional supp?)
