I really wanted a 30, since i'm having trouble breaking 2000 on my SAT..and i ended up with a 29.25...wow....i just needed one more point in any one of the sections to get a 29.5 and rounded up to a 30 -______- But since i got a 29, it's pretty much the same with my SAT scores(ACT might be SLIGHTLY higher)..so i'll definitely be retaking it.

anyway..here is the breakdown..I was rather disappointed with the math, as i got 34+ on all of my practice tests...

English:28
Math:32
Reading:27
Science:30

English and reading has always been my worst skills, on both SAT and ACT, on the math section, I left 3 questions in the end blank without time to even randomly bubble.(DAMN IT!!! that could've made the difference between 29 and 30)

I thought i did ok on the reading, apparently my judgement was off...science I thought I screwed up completely, but ended up with a 30 xD

What's the easiest section to improve on in ACT? My goal would be a 32+, but as long as it goes over 30 i'm pretty happy. Also, is the September ACT one of the harder ones or the easier ones? I'll be a senior once school starts, so I must take this test early on so I can make it in time for early actions.

Thank you

In my honest opinion, reading was easiest for me to improve in.
Just got accustomed to reading in a way that I could understand everything but still have time leftover for a quick double check.

I increased my reading score from 29 [practice test] to a 35 [actual ACT]

for me, the ones giving me most problems on reading seem to be the passages about social science and humanities. I generally find fiction and natural science easy, but find humanities passages especially hard for me. Social science ones i’m sorts of Ok, although not the best at.

I already finished all 3 practice tests on the red ACT book, what other nice ACT practice tests booklets are out there?

Haha. I personally love studying the humanities in my free time so I usually am familiar with artists mentioned in the practice test passages.

I used the sparknotes website for help. It has 3-5 practice tests and all you need to do is sign up for an account. The tests have explanations for wrong answers. :]

I also used a ACT for Dummies book. [because I was studying last minute and all the other books at the library were checked out. Also, I was too lazy to walk a few more blocks to the bookstore] It has neat tips and tricks for all the sections as well as two practice tests.

I usually perform well in school though… so uh … take what I say with a grain of salt. I mostly used practice material to get accustomed to the format of the test. The only thing I really studied were grammar concepts.
